Question Solo Seat from ebay

Has anyone bought one of these?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/320774261608...S:1123&vxp=mtr

I contacted the seller and he said that the color is designed to match the Kawasaki candy plasma blue.

I have the 09, which i think is the Candy Thunder blue.
I haven't seen a candy plasma in person so how good will the colour matching be?

It won't match, they are too different.

well that sucks, don't really want to pay $100 plus tax for a solo seat.

Wow. I just paid $70 used for CP blue and I've been looking for a better deal for three years. These must not bhe original. Now, the description says that they paint it after you order, so I would assume that they could do CT Blue too. After all, CTB is easier.

got an update from the seller, he said that he will paint match it for me.

Order the product
Don't pay
Email and tell them the colour
When they confirm the colour then you pay.

Bought mine from this seller last week to match the candy plasma blue. Hopefully it matches and fits well. At this price I do have my doubts...we'll see.

Got the seat cowl today. I ordered it on 10/21 so the shipping was actually pretty quick. Cosmetically, it looks good. There are a few blemishes on the bottom lip but no big deal. The color looks great...matches prefectly. The fit, unless I'm missing something, totally sux! The back piece of the cowl has no way to firmly attach to the bike and just flopps around. No way to slide it on the tab like the seat. Is there a piece that I'm missing that's required for the cowl vs the seat? Here's a few pics.

Yep... Your missing the rubber grommet that goes in that big hole under the seat on the bike.

I'm glad to hear that...so this grommet is the all that holds the back of the cowl and the whole thing is on there solid? Didn't see any on eBay. Guess I'll try Ron Ayers or Bike Bandit.

Actual I think the consensus is Lowes has a better than stock replacement. Try searching "Hillman & seat cowl". I think thats the company name. There's a part # on here somewhere. I'll post it tomorrow if you can't find it.

Appreciate it...just checked the fiche on both Ron Ayers and Bike Bandit and both don't even show a hole in that part of the subframe.

Thanks for posting the link Phil.

Going to try to make it to Lowe's in the next couple days and remount that cowl. If that goes well then this seller's got a great product for a good price.

Got the grommet today. The first time I put the cowl down, it was such a tight fit that it pushed the grommet through. I wiggled it down and it seems to fit fine...you can still pull the cowl up from the back though. Also, there's quite a bit of play in the front piece. Think I may need to put bigger bumpers on there.

Are these same symptoms that people experience with the factory cowl?

Looks like I'll be ordering one too. What do you guys think about this guy's shorty levers? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Racing-Brake...item336d336a7e

Edit: Without a multi-item shipping discount, it seems pointless to add any other items... especially when I see the same levers from other sellers for less money shipped.

Yea, i hope the color matching is good. They were helpful to me in making sure that the green they had was the Kawasaki 617 Lime Green that is on my bike. I guess i'll find out in a couple of weeks.

Dont the solo seats come as OEM?

I picked up (black) for my green ninja, from the dealer while I was taking my ninjette home

I think it cost me something like $85.

I want one of these but I'm afraid color dont match too.

So, my solution: All the rear in my bike are in black vinyl, so I can buy one seat cowl and put vinyl too.

Well, 2008 CP Blue is probably the hardest to match and the OP didn't have any complaints. Well, I dunno about 2012 CL Green but I haven't heard any complaints about matching that other than ColorRite not having the codes for the longest time.

I got mine from them, the color matching is not perfect but its pretty close. It didn't come with the grommet. I don't know where to get it from here locally. I'll look around.

Everyone tells me that it came with the bike and that the OEM cowl did not include it, but I don't recall ever seeing it under my seat. I got mine at Lowes. If they don't have that there, there is always the dealer.
