Question Adding a rivet master link to the stock chain ???

The stock 43 rear sprocket on the Jap model doesn't give me the extra push I need when coming out of the turns in the local track, specially going up the hill. The track is small and max speed is about 70 miles.

I tried to install a 47 rear sprocket but the chain is too short, just a couple mm

I had never considered adding a link to a stock chain before because the chain becomes weak, and it won't last... however, I don't think I'll have an issue with the stock 250's DID VP2 chain if I add a DID VX2 rivet link

What do you guys think?

Posts: A lot.
Stock EX250 has a EK SRO chain. I thought that only Australia had less teeth on the rear sprocket (according to the service manual). The service manual says that the EK SRO master link is fine if you break a link and need to reconnect, but it can't ADD a link because there is no way to get another inner link. Master links are always outer links used to connect two inner links. What I mean by "outer" and "inner" link is that the plates alternately overlap in this chain design. Some links have plates over the next links and the next link has plates under it and under the next. I have seen chains that have all identical links where they are wider on one end and smaller on the other to fit inside the next links larger end.
