If you know the road that's one thing but a lot of roads here are gravely beat up things that should be taken carefully.

Liiiiike 28... which they will never finish.

I went for a ~85 mile ride this past Saturday in the gorgeous weather. I went to the Pittsburgh Motorcycle Center (which does not have a very large selection of riding pants, and had none I was interested in) and up to Cycle Gear (which also does not have a large selection of gear outside of their in-house brand). But at Cycle Gear I was able to find an Alpinestars Bio Armor back protector that fits in my jacket. Still on the hunt for overpants, though.

No way, haha, nice. Did you roll up on a 250r? I can't remember, I think it might have been a 600 of some sort. I was so "into" getting my bike back and just wanted to ride lol.

Def riding to work tomorrow, have to remove some trees over at my fathers home in Greentree right after work. Then more than likely going out for a ride if anyone wants to join?

first places that come to mind that have decent roads:

Sonic on Rt. 19

Meeting somewhere on McKnight and riding the side roads to the highway (great drive)

From Washington PA to Cabellas in WV and back.

There are a crapload of ninja 250s in the burgh sadly only a very small percent of them are on here, we need business cards advertising the ninjette.org and if you see a ninja 250 parked or talk to a rider give them the business card, maybe we could get a huge group of ninja bikers....lol together

I would be happy to make cards for our Pittsburgh Chapter. I'm a designer by profession.

LOL they would have the ninjette.org logo with pittsburgh chapter..... reminds me of the Pagans or Hells Angels. a little burgh sons of anarchy anyone.

its just a suggestion we did that with svrider.com and a old burgh group we started GTR(golden triangle riders)

Rain rain, go away .

With work and everything I only had a chance to take the bike out for a brief five mile ride today. But I do have to say - I'm really starting to feel more at home on it and more comfortable with turning, shifting, and moving around generally. I keep downshifting to first only at stops (i.e. not letting the clutch back out to shift into it), but I'm not sure how to do better with that...

I also tried to see if I could fit the Ninja in the little gated area next to my apartment. Suffice to say: it was a bad (okay, really bad) idea. Really easy to get it in there (angled through a gate and then down two steps), very difficult to get it out (angled awkwardly through a gate and then up two steps). Lots of turns in a very short space to get it pointed in the right direction, a lot of pushing to get her out, and an accidental short burnout or two when I didn't have traction and tried to use the bike's power (because I'm too weak ). But after a lot of struggling I finally got her out without a scratch . Yup, not trying that again...

A question for you guys though: after I got her out, I went to the end of the alley and turned around. When I was riding there the bike sounded very...dry? The sound was rather higher pitched and "pingy." Could that have to do with the incline?

Slight lapse in attention meant knee met handlebar. My armored motorcycle pants were there to greet me at the door as if they were mocking me reminding me which of these activities was safer.
