I Done Messed Up
I removed the front fairing mount via hacksaw this morning and think I may have messed up bad. As I finished sawing through the metal, my hacksaw slipped and cut my ignition wiring slightly, there were some sparks but it didn't actually seem that bad. That is, until I tried to turn the bike on. When I turned the key to the 'On' position, nothing happened - there doesn't seem to be any power running through my bike. Here are some pictures:
I'm not really sure where to go from here. Did I completely fry the electrical system on my bike? Did I destroy my ignition? Do I just need to replace my ignition wiring? Did I blow a fuse? Is blowing a fuse a thing? I would be grateful for any help! -Scott |

Doesn't look like you cut the wires, only the shithing. Based on the attached images, my browser currently has other images blocked.

Be sure to wrap electrical tape around the wires you nicked.

I strongly suggest carrying a few spare fuses, 30A & 10A. I personally use the Bussmann easyID Illuminating Blade Fuses, when the fuse is blown, it lights up, making it easy to find the bad one, especially at night on the side of a dark road. Tak tsk! Nobody mentioned to the OP to carefully tape up the exposed wire(s)?
For two reasons: - To prevent them shorting on the frame or whatever. - To inhibit corrosion of the exposed wiring! Now having wagged my finger; I'll go back and check the suggestion was not already made! Edit: Darn you @Snake! Lol! I should say good on you, Snake!
