Hi,
Is your petcock vacuum-operated? If so, it's broken because petrol shouldn't flow until engine is cranking and generating vacuum. Also your float-valves aren't sealing. They should stop flow into carbs when float-level is reached. Most likely you need thorough carb restoration and replacement of worn rubber bits like O-rings, float-valves and seals. |

you've circled a main air correction jet, rising fuel level is sneaking outta there....a runaway float valve.... seal not sealing, could be due to many reasons. But yessir, @DannoXYZ correct...carb service is certainly called for. And within the service replace ALL orings, rail seals and float valves.

Although it seemed to operate properly when i cleaned the carbs last night it was in fact the float valve.

@DannoXYZ I believe the petcock was vacuum-operated however i bypassed that feature by removing the spring behind the diaphragm, gas wasn't flowing when trying to start the bike . I saved the spring in order to fix that issue properly.

Best to replace all rubber parts. Will need to separate carbs to replace fuel-rail O-rings. |
