So I love my little 07 250. I have the forks rebuilt with 10 w oil. I will probably replace the forks and front wheel. I want ex500 front end to rebuild and a front 17 inch wheel. I will also change out the front caliper. How much of a weight difference is there? I have a ninja 600 fat boy shock coming. I have installed a full Muzzy exhaust. I rejetted the carbs to a 110 main, 3 washers under the needle, and 4 turns out on the air fuel screws. She runs good at 6000 foot elevation. There is also the stock air box with a uni filter. I also put in irridium plugs. I might keep the back swing arm and just order 130 x 16 front tire and mount on back.
She is such a fun bike to throw around. I did have some over heating issues. I lost a bolt that holds the line out of the water pump. She shot all the coolant out while I was about 70mph in a corner. She got hot enough where the thermastat and fan switch have failed. Replaced and fixed she runs great. I have also gone thru the valves and all. The rear wheel removal is the worst design I have ever seen. Them flames add 3 hp. ;P

I don't have a pre gen but I'm running new gen, with pod filter, + full race exhaust and currently have 110 main at 1000-2500' elevation and I am considering going down to a 108 IDK though? Just struck me as odd, u might have some room for tuning there

The NewGen swingarm should bolt right into the PreGen frame (the 500's is a bit wider at the pivot), if you want to go 17" back there too. Once again, I'm not sure about the wheel/brake details, but the swingarm itself should be pretty PnP.

I got the zx600 shock today. I emptied the old oil and added bel ray 7 w fork oil. I put 15 lbs of air pressure back in her. Boy does she feel better. The loose pogo stick action is gone. She is much tighter.
