Timing? Simple wiring?

Hey guys, so I'm in middle of building a shifter kart from scratch and it's come time to mount my 250 motor to the frame. I can't do that until I put my motor back together first, though.

Right now, the valve cover is off, the cam shafts and rockers are removed, the timing chain tensioner is undone, and the whole cylinder head is removed. I cleaned all the internals and am now starting to put everything back together (hopefully the piston ring compressor will work as intended). But on to my question: Is there a good guide for doing the timing correctly on our motors or maybe a different similar one? I did not think to mark the cam gear and chain before disassembly.. I do have a timing light though.

Next question that isn't nearly as important but would be really helpful to me: Is there a wiring diagram for our motors that is JUST for ignition? One that does away with all the safety switches like clutch or kickstand, etc? I can spend a week figuring it out by trial and error and studying the busy full diagram, but if there's something I'm looking for already out there....

-Chris

Okay, I found an ignition only wiring diagram that will help out a lot.

Now to figure out how to properly time my motor...

Are you talking cam timing ? I think there are explanations on this forum if you search, or use a factory manual.
If you are talking ignition timing, ( you mentioned using a timing light), then you don't need to worry as the standard ignition set up on these is not adjustable !
