And the point would be... what, exactly?

I imagine it would be lighter, but using a HEAVIER (and pointless on a low-power bike) chain would negate any advantage, no?

Wait, it's getting cheaper... now $90.38 in the link.

I wouldn't mind a belt drive if it proved reliable and were available in the same ratio I like.

Probably combination of road-condition, costs, import-duties, tiered-licensing, etc. There may be more Ninja 250s per-capita there than anywhere else? Makes for lively market in upgrades.

I wonder why they don't take PayPal. The only place in the world I wasn't able to take payment that way was Turkey, because of the recent financial problems there.

They do take PayPal. Also wire-transfer via ClearXchange.com . Only bottleneck for me is the Indonesian post. To get stuff sent out through them costs a bunch. I got quoted $647 for a set of wheels that costs $300. Going to check if any of the global shippers like DHL has office there.

One of us should vacation there and fill up an entire shipping-container of 250 stuffs. Only costs about $1200 to ship container to Oakland, empty or full. Might as well load it up!!!

On one of the chats I had with them, they say they take PayPal. Probably charge a little more to cover fees.

I had college roommate that was 1/2 Malaysian and 1/2 Indonesian. Gotta track that guy down, maybe he has family in Indonesia. That would be good contact to have...

Lighter sure, but I bet chain life it practically forever and it's much quieter than a regular chain too. I bet the chain never wears out, just replace the rear sprocket once in a while. I wouldn't mind trying one.

$180 for shipping? WTF? I order parts from WeBike in Japan and the shipping is a fraction of that and I usually get it in less than a week too. Somebody is screwing you.

I imagine you've tried already, but isn't there an Indonesian Post Office that will ship packages? When I ship stuff overseas, FedEx and UPS would charge $150 for something the USPS will do for $34.

Hey hello guys, sorry i've been very busy with my college stuff

Yes i've checked the nearest UPS and DHL
They said $180 for door to door shipment service from Indonesia to USA
I was like, it's a joke right?
They said, No.
I have no intentions of screwing someone by raising the shipping fee, it's literally hell lot of troubles.
I'm not familiar with worldwide shipping, door to door service was the only thing that I asked, there are maybe others, LCL? Idk, could be cheaper

Exporting stuff to other countries is difficult in Indonesia, i guess that's the reason why Indonesian sparkles are so hard to find in EU/USA.

What is the situation with the Indonesian Post Office, Bernawan? As I posted above, local Post Offices are normally much less expensive than carriers like UPS, FedEx and DHL.

Only way that would work would be shipping 10 or more together.

You still wouldn't think it would be that much.

Interesting product. I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to manufacture here. Exactly what material is it?

Presumably polyurethane. I was thinking myself if this could be improved by adding some sort of fiber material to act as a matrix.

Since there's two different post systems, one at each end, there needs to be reciprocity agreement of sorts between them to deal with the "handoff" from one to other and how customers are charged. I suspect US Postal doesn't have something like that with Indonesia as they have with ePacket from China or Hong Kong post Or there may be import/export tariffs on one side or both that's jacking up pricing.

I've found best deal so far, only U$120 LCL per cubic meter on pallet, regardless of weight. Just need agent on each side to pack & deliver to docks and to receive in Oakland, CA. We can pay shipper for storing & packing services or hire independent agent that will deliver pre-loaded and wrapped pallet.

Well, I've shipped my products overseas for many years now, and have never come across a country that I can't ship to by USPS.

The USPS site shows that I can send something to Indonesia in a small flat rate box for $33, or a medium flat rate box for $71. I'm pretty sure you could send a chain and sprocket set in a medium flat rate box. Of course I checked going from the US to Indonesia, but you'd think if that's easy, the reverse would be possible.

Also, importing small amounts of retail items into the US does not normally result in any import duty or tax, at least in my experience. I can buy $100 worth of bicycle tires from Europe, and they arrive at my mailbox without any fee other than the basic postage I paid when I placed the order.

Most likely some sort of tariff at Indonesian border. As of July 2017, Indonesian govt' has forbidden all door-to-door shipping services. All incoming packages has to go to customs and get picked up there with appropriate duties paid. Actual amount of duties owed is based upon volume of package and receivers must have an import licence.

Shipping out is similar with duties and tariffs paid beforehand. Best retail method of shipping one-off or small packages is probably EMS.

I was hoping to hear from Bernawan, since he lives there and can check with his local Post Office.

I tried to buy a V-grill through him and he got quote from UPS for $160. Hopefully he can clarify or find the total broken down into components of cost.

BTW, don't ever use UPS for international shipping.

I'll try to find some clues in Indonesian Post Office soon, hopefully it won't be raining today.
I'm gonna give the update a.s.a.p.
