Drum charger?

Anyone seen/heard anything about this? It looks somewhat interesting for the Ninja 300.

I've read a little about this. It apparently works, but a Ninja 300 would require two of them, so not cheap, and they sure don't look very good.

I cannot believe that those things would work as advertised and would be reliable as well.
All that exhaust heat seems to be too close to the legs of a Florida rider.

So according to the design, the exhaust does NOT flow to the IDC, its just a dead end pipe to carry exhaust pulses to the diaphragm. So heat transfer should not be a worry

It looks like any interesting idea, if they can bring it in for a cheap price. You rely on this technology to stop your car, using manifold pressure working on a large diaphragm to increase the power of your leg. They really do add a huge amount of effort from a very small pressure differential. So this should work as intended.

They would need to bring these in very cheaply, as a turbo setup would cost around $1500-2k in the aftermarket. Needing two of these with custom air pipework would need to cost less than approx $300 each, because you would need a modified exhaust as well !

If you imagine, if the diaphragm pump volume is 1.5-2x the cylinder volume, then you could get 1.5-2bar pressure. If it's not heated to much by the IDC then you won't need an airbox or intercooler, so minimum pipe length to the intake valve would be critical as would the pipe bore. If the diaphragm was able to react fast enough, I'd plum in BOTH headers to the implulse pipe, thus getting two pulses per intake cycle !

Be interesting to see where it goes.
