Long Term Storage Prep
Hi Guys,
I have only had my bike for about 2 months and just found out I will be getting posted internationally for between 4-6 months. Since this is my fist bike I was wondering if I could get advice on what I need to do to get it ready for being out of action that long. Thanks

stabilize the gas. make sure it's mixed in well. drain the carb bowls. if you don't have a battery tender, get one and hook the bike up. if you havs stands to get the bike off the ground, use them. if not, just put some plywood or something under the wheels if you're worried about leaving tires on the ground for long periods of time. Do an oil change if you feel so inclined as well. another idea is a motorcycle cover to keep the bike clean.

Definitely drain the fuel tank and carbs.
Might be a good idea to fog the cylinders too.

I leave my tank full and stabilized to try and reduce the chance of the inside of my tank rusting

A bunch of good tips in this thread:
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=52643 and the ones linked from it. Good luck with the international posting! Can you rent a bike there?
