Oil Leak Help
Hi, unfortunately I had my first spill today and now I have an oil leak on the engine case. What can I do to fix it? Do I need a new cap? Help would be most appreciated. Thank you

There's not a lot of oil in that part of the engine, so it shouldn't be leaking much. Is it just a film of oil? You can remove that cap and replace the O-ring underneath. It's possible to replace the entire cover but it may be pricey to find a replacement. Do you have any better closeup pictures of the cap itself?

It looks like you broke the cap and tore the O-ring. Pull the cap and see if the mating surface on the cover is still intact. If so, a new cap and O-ring should fix you right up. If the O-ring contact area is damaged then yeah, you'll need a new cover, or you may be able to repair it if you've got good maker skills.

What is that thing above the cap? Might just be because I'm on my ancient phone, but I can't figure out what the heck that thing is.

+1 to the bracket. The parts are inexpensive as well to replace. http://www.chaplinkawasaki.com/fiche...007&fveh=21725
