Went to ace and bought some screws to replace some I lost. Decided to take some daytime pics at the house.

dude. this:

and this:

so much win.

Now just get red "Ninja" and "Kawasaki" and "250R" decals to match the style.

I do agree though, the gas cap kinda sticks out IMHO, but no worries, your bike

@saxnbass is killing me with all his mods, so I had to go on a little shopping spree. Damn you Sax

Just ordered:
Blue anodized bolts for the fairings, windshield and gas cap from Pro Bolt.
Driven clip-ons
Bohemian Blue/Gold 7075 rearsets
Gold levers from the2wheels

Plus I figured I'd take a shot on these grips from them. For 12 bucks even if they suck it's meh. It was only like $48 for the levers AND grips, they didn't even charge me shipping. How does this company stay in business lol.

Just an update on some customer service so far, I'll give the full reviews when everything arrives. Bohemian called me almost immediately after my order was placed to let me know that I forgot the risers for my clip ons. He noticed I wanted them for a 08 250R and sent me an invoice for them with paypal, no hassle. I thought that was pretty awesome for a company to do, I would have been pissed if I got halfway done with the install and realized I needed them.

Also got an email from 2wheels saying they already shipped my stuff and it's only been like 2 hours lol.

There's a thread floating around here that shows how to get rid of that gap...

EDIT: can't find what I was thinking of, but I did find this

Update

So I got home from a little underway tonight to find some goodies at the door!!

Didn't even get started with this stuff until like 10pm tonight since I just got home so late. Was so excited I wanted to start installing them. Gonna make a little DIY for the Driven's. Didn't get to the rearsets since it's so late, but here's the front so far.

I like those a lot!!

You're making my decision to not get shorty levers even harder now...
$25 for the the2wheels levers + $40 for a brand new ex500 clutch perch and about 25 minutes of time. hmmmmm!

Finally got the rear sets on today. The brake side has to have the master cyl turned around for it to fit. With the Area P Race exhaust, the bottom of the master cyl screw is too long, I shaved it off and it still only has like 2mm of clearance, but it should be ok since it pushes up and doesn't need to come any further down.

Have you thought about how much weight you are putting onto the intake boots that go from the carbs to the engine? I'm not saying it will be a problem, but adding the runners from the air filter to the carbs, and the carbs only attached to the intake boots by some clamps... could be a problem. Imagine you hitting a big pothole one day and your air filter bouncing up and down so much your carbs wiggle off :O

Zip tie those babies or something to support them as others have!

PS: your bike is awesome! I really want to buy rear sets now!

PPS: how much did the powder coating on the rims set you back?

The filter is pretty light, I never even really gave much thought to it. I'll go add some zip tie supports for peace of mind.

Powder coating was 300 for the set. Not the cheapest, but I just dropped them off and the place took the bearings out and stripped them, PC'ed them, and then put them back together.

That's true, TBH peace of mind might just be a life saver! I mean turn your bike on and just look at your carbs shake then look at your filter. With mine directly on the carbs, it's vibrating quite a bit. I would assume your's would be more. Imagine too much flex on all of your boots/runners!!

Personally I didn't have zip ties around so I neglected to use the runners. Why did you do that btw? Just personal preference? For me I like having the filter right on the carbs so I don't even have to take it off when I remove the carbs if I want to quickly work on jetting with them off the bike.

As per the powder coating, that's not absolutely terrible, I actually thought it might be more (I have had some friends ripped off). I don't think I would do it just because I have a red bike and red rims would look terrible (plus, I can't use gold!).

I used the runners because the filter fit perfectly around them. I couldn't get a seal as easy when I tried to put the filter right to the carbs.

@saxnbass you have such a skinny neck and small head!! jk

@thisisbenji the picture doesn't look a whole lot different, but they're angled down more, and they're physically down a little further. They're just perfect for getting your head down more in turns and getting a more aggressive posture without being so aggressive that they hurt. If you're thinking about buying a set, my advice to just splurge on yourself and get a set.

Mind you, mine are angled down about half of what they're capable of being angled down.

Also, where do you see my reflection in that picture?

Went for a 100 mile back road ride yesterday. Here's some pre-ride pics of the finished bike. Gotta adjust the rearsets today, brake is way too low.

@ForceofWill I like the chain guard and I just noticed the fun license plate

Also, now that you have the clipons, try lowering the front about 10-15mm or so. You might like the quicker turn in. I dropped my front about 5mm and raised the back about an inch. Still stable at speed, but really quick to turn in.

watch out @silverdub, that road gets expensive quick.

First it's just the levers and bar ends. Then pre-load adjusters. Then rear sets. Then chain. Then rims and every other part that can possibly be powder-coated

Just a quick question, which Bohemian rearset did you get? There's two sets listed on their site with a ~$60 difference.

How much did yours cost?
