Some pics of the wify

Trip around Mt. Rainer

Diablo Lake, Hwy 20 in WA.

Since the last one didn't have the bike, here's one of them in "touring" mode...

This is probably my favorite pic I've gotten of her so far...

Talking Why I haven't been posting lately..

And no, it's not because I'm busy posing for pictures. My husband finally got me to sit still with my bike long enough to get pictures..

And something to make you cry.. My husband's ninja.

There's a whole lot of info in those few pics, Tor! New 675 for you? Destroyed ninjette for hubby? Is he OK? How do you like that gorgeous white machine?

Yeah, that's the 2010 Daytona 675 SE. I love the bike. I got it about a month ago. I took my lil Ninja for his 15k service (15.5k was on the clock, oops) and the dealership came to me and offered to buy the bike. Timing was perfect because I had purchased the Daytona the day before. Dealership offered fair and reasonable price for an 09 for with over 15k on it.

Husband is fine. Had weekend duty and on the way at 0530 he was in a left turn and hit a patch of gravel going about 50mph. Bike highsided and threw him off. Him and the bike slide for a bit into a ditch on the backroads of Fort Hood off of West Range Road. Had a few spots of road rash (was wearing only his ACUs at the time so no sympathy from me) on his left arm and knee. Joe Rocket gloves he had on stitching failed on his left hand so road rash there. The safety vest he was wearing took most of the slide so he was real lucky. Helmet he had had for less than 24 hours was trashed too. His left ankle was messed up, we're thinking the bike slide over it in the crash. STILL waiting on an MRI from the Army here in about a week and a half to see if anything serious was done. He had his accident about 3 weeks ago.

And I just want to add on a side note, I always correct people when they ask about my "upgrade". It's not an upgrade, it's just a new bike. If I could have financially kept both bikes, I would have. But with insurance and maintenance costs, it wasn't feasible. I loved my ninjette. The amount of mileage I was logging though, I needed.. Correction, wanted something with a little more oomph. That, and I needed to get over my deathly fear of the 600cc and up class of motorcycles.

Oh yeah, he does now. Getting his road rash scrubbed was not the most pleasant experience for him. The entire time I was just standing there trying not to laugh.

Well, it rains all the time... ON THE PENINSULA! (and only really in the rain forest there...) Eastern WA has a huge steppe (practically desert) region. Washington climates span the whole range from rain forest to desert. On top of that, the best kept secret in WA is that it hardly ever rains anywhere here. Cloudy on the West side, yes, but rain? Not that often. And even if it IS raining, it could be pouring in Everett but dry every where else... So... Don't tell anyone about our secret, okay?

That SE is such a sexy bike...it came out after I got my Street Triple R of course. But if that was out earlier this year it would have made my choice to go fairingless much harder. Still probably would have gone naked, but either way 675 FTW...can I say that here?!?

That sucks about your husband's Ninja, but I'll take being able to walk away from an accident relatively unscathed and able to ride again another day over any amount of bike damage any day.

Glad to hear you husband is ok. Love your new bike. Definitely the best color combination available for the 675 right now (still like the black and gold SE from last year better though).

The blue bike is mine, the red my wifes. The tail bag is a CoreTech. I got the matching tail/saddle bags. The tail bag has a rain cover on it because when we left it was pretty cloudy. Also, it probably looks a little weird because I have a mesh jacket stuffed under the tail bag...

Here's a better pic without the rain cover on.

Yeah, well the best part was that I showed up at the hospital (2 hours later because no one knew where the friggin hospital was!) in my motorcycle gear because I had rode my bike up there. Nobody told me he had totaled the bike or that he'd need a ride home... Yeaaaah, after his capt got done laughing at me he gave my husband a ride home.

He had his accident about 3 weeks ago.
which joe rocket gloves did he have?
