Saturday morning brought perfect track conditions for the lightweight class and after the initial enthusiasm led to some mild tumbles early on, riders turned their focus on the battle for Q2 positions. No harm was done at the top of the combined practice times until the final shoot-out, when Deniz Öncü made the first move but it was Andrea Migno who went on to grab the all time lap record, leaving the young Turkish rider over half a second behind. To make it every worse, Öncü also finished the session in the gravel trap at turn nine, after getting caught up in Sergio Garcia’s crash.
