People throwing things at you?

So dunno if this happens alot, but a car full of girls threw a big orange lip gloss container at me (they missed) tonight at an intersection when they turned right.
I guess they like me.

Do objects get thrown at MC drivers alot?
Has it happened to you?
Good or bad intentions?
Last time it happened to you?

Im new to this so not sure what to expect lol

Redding, about 3 hours north of sac.
I was at an intersection on red waiting for light, they had followed me about 1 mile so far and were turning right.
Next thing I know a bright orange thing clutters about 4ft in front of me and the civic is driving off lol

Those hooligans! The closest thing i've had hit me from another car is when someone threw a cigarette out the window and it flew towards me. Glad you and your bike weren't injured in your incident.

Yah I was glad it happened at a stop, coulda been distracting if I was rolling.
Im thinking worst case scenario can be a milkshake out a window on the freeway D:

I was tempted to pick it up and tear after them and then toss it back in their car at the next red and say something like "you ladies dropped this" :P

Just so you know . Throwing something from a car at a pedestrian bicyclist or motorcycle is assault. Even a candy bar wrapper.

Same here, misdemeanor assault, good for a cuff and stuff, and if convicted some jail time with new friends named Bubba...

Some guy i knew of years ago was riding his bicycle. Some girls threw lemonade on him. He saw the road they went down and knew it was a dead end. He caught up to them and smashed their side window with his fist. Guessing they never did that again.

I always watch people on overpasses whether I am in car or on bike. Cousin years ago had someone drop a can of soda or something filled with liquid on him.

The groin of my new sand pants looks like the bottom of a ash tray after the first day I wore them. I really HATE people who throw cigarettes out the window...Or cigars for that matter, they're 10x worse.

People use to throw trash over the window like cigarettes, empty bottles, soda can and other things like this.
The badly thing's burning cigarretes. If you dont evade, it may hurt.

I dont know, but I wondering if the car people really want to do it or are just stupids and dont check the mirrors.

Didn't happen to me but a buddy of mine. He was driving and stopped at a stop light. Light turns green and the lady in front didn't go so he honked. Next stop light, she throws a newspaper at him and starts yelling at him for honking at her.

People don't are polite and these days.
I almost go to traffic fights at last once per day.

Blind people turning without turn signals, sleeping in the green light, crawling you slow cars in the left road and things like that. Every single day have a lot of stupids riding.

There's a a neighborhood that has twisties in Vancouver. Apparently, the residents are known to throw bottles, sticks, etc. at motorcyclists...

Attempted murder if you ask me.

You are pretty dumb if you throw something at someone riding. Not only will it piss the rider off, but unless the offender is on a bike themselves, you are more than capable of staying with them, even on a 250.

Of course, this doesn't give riders license to go into a fit of rage and run the offender down. I, for one, would get their license plate number and take time out of my day to call the police and follow them until they get pulled over. I don't care if they don't get a ticket, I'll be happy I took precious time out of their day and scared the living crap out of them.

If they manage to lose me, then they will definitely get a speeding ticket from the car sent to intercept them.

The 3 times I've gone through the trouble of calling the police on a dangerous driver(people who were repeatedly braking traffic laws and causing danger to others) I've seen them get pulled over shortly thereafter on the highway.

Both? I've had people look right at me in their side view and still throw a cigarette out the window. And I mean a solid 2+ second eye contact. I guess they think their trash evaporates into thin air when it leaves the car..or they just don't care.

It hurts my head to think about it. Your car already smells bad from the smoke, WHY NOT JUST USE THE ASHTRAY. There is one in every single f'ing car!

I was hit by a Subway sandwhich on the interstate once. A kid in a bus on a field trip or something threw it out the window. Waste of a perfectly good sandwhich if you ask me.

Really disgusting.
Maybe just me or to all motorcycles who drive cars too. But I really want to help the bikes in traffic. I always open the road to bikes driving between my car and other. Why so difficult to respect a biker?

Most new cars don't have ash trays anymore. Neither my 05 or 04 have one. They all have extra lighter ports though (also no lighters)

Not on a bike but once when riding in my friends VW Van that had a roll back rag top we had som rednecks in a truck throw paper balls in the van at a stop light. They didn't expect that he was a 6'7" redneck himself so when he got out they just took off.

I've never had anyone throw anything at me intentionally (unless they did and were such a bad aim that I didn't notice ) but I did once ride behind someone in a convertible who was eating sunflower seeds and tossing the shells.

It was like a little hailstorm of tiny back shells. Ping! Ping! Ping!

A few years ago someone (a kid) on a school bus threw something at me out the window at a stoplight. I felt and heard a bang on my helmet. I didn't see who threw it but I saw what appeared to be a large (slightly smaller than a golf ball) jawbreaker type of candy rolling on the ground. I flagged down the bus driver told him what happened and called the local cops. Bus driver was really nice and didn't like what had happened. About a week later I get a letter from the school district stating a kid fessed up and was then kicked off the bus route. It would have been worse if I was moving and the object struck me right in the visor.

Sounds like some of the incidents were pretty serious, so I apologize in advance if I seem like I'm making light of it... but, this really makes me think about the scene from Wil Ferrel's movie, "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy".

It was hilarious!

But, seriously, getting stuff thrown at you while on your bike is not cool.

I was hit by a lit cigarette on the freeway, in rush-hour.... carelessness, imo. Had it gotten stuck in my jacket, it would have been bad for me.

When my dad was riding years ago on a 750 he had a car full of teenagers throwing beer bottles at him, so he just dropped two gears and flew.

Never had anyone throw stuff at me on the MC. Lots on a bicycle. Beer Bottles and cigarettes seem to be the favorites. I once had a slice of pizza thrown at me--made a mess. A beer bottle once hit my handlebars and shattered--cut up my hand. Most people are cool. There are some a holes around who make it out to be a bigger problem than it is.

Blinkcab did a blog about getting a rock thrown at him. People here always seem more interested in how much I paid/why only a 250r than they do throwing things at me.

Glad to know that counts as assault in case anyone ever throws something in a dangerous manner.
Keep the lip gloss, panties, bras, and money coming
Ive also noticed how many girls check me out on the bike lol, its kinda ridiculous.
