The expense is not really as much as you would think depending on the track. I pretty much bummed my through my first track day, borrowed a pop up tent and chairs, got a cheap ramp and food costs. I wanted to make sure I was really going to like it. Since then I got my full set up, some camping gear, gas cans, pop up tent and then food costs which is not much tbh as I don't eat much at te track.

The thing is at 39 if you show up at a night club you look and feel out of place as an example. At the track you fit right in, there is no age gap or prejudice among motorcycle riders. I would guess that the hardest part is taking advice from guys and girls half your age, if you can accept that a 19 or 20 year old knows more then you and you are willing to accept that then its a breeze.

I am just a firm believer that you are only as old as you feel or act. Get out there and do it, hell most clubs have an over 40 race class!

I'm going this year.

If I felt comfy enough to race, I would for sure but I'm so used to saying "NOT RACING!!!" because if I say I'd try it I get that laughing behind the hand thing..

We made sure to include a good bit of skepticism when we first discussed it here. Their numbers are most definitely bogus. The "top speed" is somehow higher than a bike with an engine that size despite HP being wasted on keeping it at 10,000 feet.

Also, doesn't it smack you as a little childish for them to wear helmets for this "test" when they weren't riding the thing? Earmuffs and safety glasses, yes, but helmets?! The helmets are to convince you that it's real. More excitement = more VC money. There's plenty of money/incentive to make a convincing mockup.
