Ben, I hope you can find the part cheap and get it fixed soon. We have a lot of members in Cali. Maybe one of them can help you locate a part.

During an oil change, which I've done 2 previously on my own, I used a torque wrench that I had just bought trying to ensure that everything was done according to manual. I must have misunderstood the adjustments on the torque wrench - to the point I over-tightened the oil filter mounting bolt to where I not only crushed the filter but the metal bottom piece was shattered and the top part on the compartment housing the filter with the thread for the mounting bolt was stripped and destroyed. Apologies for not using specific part names I have been unable to find the details yet.

I don't know if I just totaled the entire engine, but that's my worry. Any and all help is appreciated, I've included some pictures of the damage as well.

Thanks
You need to stop going to the gym so much!

I just sold a complete motor with low miles on ebay for $320 shipped, I do not believe that I have another at the moment, but I will withing the next month. If youre still in need, keep me in mind.

I have never offered pregen parts. I am indeed a Parts Ninja. Time for you to upgrade to a newgen.

Sucks to see a lesson this hard being learned by anyone. I agree that an engine swap will likely be the best course of action to save you money, and give you plenty of spare parts to keep with your old engine. Good luck @overtorque and hopefully another member here in your area is willing to lend a hand. Here's a decent deal for a low mileage option, and pricing seems to be in line with most I've found online.
