Bike pretty much looks the same, except the old chrome exhaust has been partially blacked out and the bottom of the fairings are different. I'm not 100% sure if these bikes are out in the States, but here in Australia they are. Also, from the research I've done, the specifications are the same.

There are also 2 special editions, not 100% sure if they're Kawasaki Special Editions or Limited Dealer Special Editions:

Sorry about size, don't know how to resize..

How are the fairings different? The only thing I see different is the Exhaust (much better to me)

Did you really need to start a new thread on this? There's already over 100 posts about it right here: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...ht=2010&page=3

And you've been in that thread!

Holy crap. I was just looking at the Japanese motorcycle site. They still make a modern I-4 250 4-stroke motor they put on a naked sport bike called the Balius II. According to the stats I found it has 40hp and 14.8ft-lb for power.

Omg, why don't they put that motor in the ninjette and sell it in North America and Australia at the least. That would sell for sure in countries with little to no restrictions and where the ninjette is already selling like crazy. Hell, I bet the naked one would sell just as well with as many people either wanting a naked bike or making streetfighters out of ninjettes.

Here's the bike that I'm talking about.

They also still make a 400cc I-4 ZRX and ZRX II over there with 53hp and 27.3ft-lbs.

I discovered yet another unusual Kawi. It's a 2008 EL 250 Eliminator with a 250cc v-twin motor with 35hp and 17.7ft+lbs.

Makes you wonder why not the more powerful engines. Yes a 400 would sell really well over in the USA.

An inline 4 cilinder 250 would be great.

Colour wise, look carefully the fairings are in 2 colours.

Mike, I'm not sure that they are - I have a couple of pictures of the '08 and it almost looks that way in those too - it might just be a lighting thing...

An engine making that much more power would probably mean not passing EPA testing in the USA.

Good find Kim, I may be mistaken just by the angle and lighting of the pictures taken.

Pretty sure that's just the lighting....the line between the matte looking finish and the gloss finish doesn't follow ANY lines on the bike at all, it wouldn't make sense to do it there. If it followed the bikes lines somewhat, then yes maybe, but in this case, I'd have to say it's just lighting.

I wonder how hard it would be to slide one of the ZR-X 400 engines into a Ninja frame. That would be an awesome ride.
