Hello from Metro Detroit

Hi everyone, I'm Matt from Waterford, Michigan, near detroit. This is my first year riding, I picked up my 09 250r in early may. I'm always lurking forums while at work, but since this place is dedicated to 250r's, I had to sign up and join the group.

I've put about 2500 miles on the bike so far. Just did a trip to Ohio with my dad, he took his Goldwing 1500 trike to a rally. It was a pretty small rally, and not another sportsbike in sight, but it was about the first interstate trip for me anyway. I was pretty impressed that the little bike kept up, never had a problem with power while doing 70, so upgrading the bike wont be a high priority to me. Dropping the RPMs (sprocket change, or upgrading to a 600) and maybe a new windscreen would make interstate travel a little smooth, not to mention a seat pad.

I'm more of the cruiser type, but I prefer the sportsbike style (and price) over other bike styles. I love the speed and the corning too, maybe I'll try the track one day, but I'm in no rush. Btw, There are no good twisties in southeast michigan...

My coworker took the cycle saftey class with me, but he backed out when it came time to buy the bike. So if anyone around the metro detroit area wants to do some aimless cruising, hit me up!

a little rain wont keep me from riding for too long. It's been very wet around here latley, but it dried out nice today.

I was ready to buy a GSXR 600 until I found this community. Its gonna be a Lime Green 250 for me. I might have probably switch by brothers as well. One tried to make me stick with the plan until he saw the specs & had read a few threads. There's 3 of us that was going for a 600. I think its a good decision.
