KTM in talks to bring a 250 Sportbike to America

http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/rumo...5-rumor-india/

If that story is true and dealers support it( unlike the RC8, whichwas relegated to KTM's off road dealers), I will get so stoked. This and the baby Duke have me looking forward to the next 2 years. I think I changed my mind of getting an R6 after I master my psycho build, I think my next bike will be a KTM.

Nice! Put the 390 motor in this baby for the NA market and it will be a killer.

If it looks anything like the RC8 it will be sexy.

No doubt it will be one sick looking ride, as almost anything is from KTM.

But I have a feeling I would still prefer the Duke

Why don't you guys have 600cc bikes? Are they illegal in India? If so, why?

They're not as practical there...no SS is really for the roads and congestion.

They get all the little bikes because that's what sells and what the market demands. However Kawi has recently launched the Ninja 650 there...

They get liter bikes so the rich folks who pay twice as much as we do for them can have a sense of prestige and use them on the track if they feel like it.

No point of paying twice as much for a 600cc when you can just get a 1000cc for a few thousand more. For the people that buy them (maybe 5% of the population) its pocket change...

India has a duty of 110% on imported vehicles...that's why many companies are setting up production plants there.

basically, buying an R1 in India would be like 110% tax, and buying an R6 would be like 200%+, It's a huge number, so the R6 ends up costing more than the R1, no one buys it, manufacturers don't sell them.

All the 1000's are available here, including the S1000, thought i'd have to sell my house to buy one

Oh, and the Busa
