I really need to stop looking. But it might be worth it for someone if this goes cheap. Probably only needs a carb clean.

anyone else have Veterans' day off?

If weather is decent (in 40's no rain) anyone want to get together for a small ride say mid dayish when it warms up a bit?

I'm in Laurel, MD

I'm also off on Monday. I'm up for a group ride but useless for planning or ideas. I'll probably be out getting some miles in anyway, so starting anywhere from Germantown to laurel is alright for me.

^ sounds good, meeting up somewhere won't be a problem.

Hopefully this nice weekend weather holds out through Monday. It would be nice to get at least 1 or 2 more people especially someone who knows some nice roads. i know of some roads but they are not close, but not far at the same time. We can play it by ear for now and discuss more details come Sunday and see if anyone else wants in on the action.

best,
joe

Saturday started out cold but turned out to be almost perfect.

Skyline drive. there's still plenty of snow from sandy.

So looks like Jaesun and myself are the only people in MD from the site that have off Monday.

So Jaesun, i think you mentioned you will be carving up the pavement regardless, you have any idea of where or when you might take to the street?

I have no plans as of now other than wait for it to warm up a little before i get out would be willing to ride by 10am, give time for temp to get up and traffic to die down.

If you know of some decent roads i'm down to ride wherever.

Hmmm... How far south are you willing to go? I just spent the day chasing two ducatis from leesburg to summit point and back. a group mainly in their 20s and 30s.

The group I went up to skyline drive with on Saturday were a lot older. Mainly cruisers and they had kids in their 20s. they're way up north.

I just woke up from my nap. I was going to ask around about tomorrow.

On a side note, I can't believe the progress that i've made in the past two weeks. I was a little disappointed at first after taking a lee parks total control advanced clinic. But it's actually sticking. I'm no where near where I want to be and still a little uncomfortable with body position, but i'm not fighting turns as much. It's more holding back on the lean so I don't go to far.

Oh, my tentative plans for monday are to do a chain adjustment and then ride up to Frederick. There's a recall notice on my gas tank, and the service shop at JT Motorsports suggested that I bring it by. I don't think it's anything important. It just gives me some reason to get lost on the backroads between Germantown and Frederick without worry about ending up in West Baltimore (again).

If there's a group getting together, Monday should be great until the rain in the evening. I can always go up to the Kawasaki dealer some other time. But I should probably go up soon. There's also a slight rattling noise in my engine when I'm in 4th or 5th at around 10k RPMs. It might have always been there, but I'm just noticing it more now because it's time for a valve adjustment. I figured I'd ask the dealership just to be sure.

^ yeah, monday would probably be a good day to get the work done on the bike. I put on lots of miles this weekend and am a little sore from work so i might just end up taking it easy today since we really don't have a group of riders.

joe

Good deal, I got out yesterday for a bit and cruised around PG and Arundel county mostly on 450 towards Annapolis and was back roads down by crownsville. It was good but was pretty windy. I won't get out today, got to much going on.

Holy hell it got cold. Rode an hour to work at 8am -- the wind chill was 5* BEFORE GOING 60MPH!!! That might be the least fun I've had on a motorcycle (well, when I wasn't crashing )

So far, I've yet to see any manufacturers publish anything about national demo days. I thoroughly enjoyed the Kawasaki and Yamaha demos that came through last year. Has any one heard anything about demo rides this year?

Also, as of this past weekend, the bike is back out. A new tune and a full service later, I'm ready to go for this riding season.

Yeah, mine stayed out until mid december, but once the average temps drop below about 50 degrees, it's not as much fun for me any more, especially with the long commutes I have. The mornings have still been a bit too cold for me this week to ride to work though. Last year the ninja was only away about a month or so with the incredibly mild winter we had.

I'm looking to buy a Thruxton or possibly a supermoto. I love the Daytona, but really, it's a toy. If I had the space and the money I'd keep it to ride in the evenings and have fun with, I would. I really only enjoy it the, like, 5% of the time when I'm on a good road and I'm doing 3x the speed limit. I've had my fun with it, but I'm looking to ride something a bit more relaxed now.

I'll be honest, part of me really misses my 250....

Anyone looking to go for a nice ride this weekend let me know. I will probably do a loop from Laurel, MD towards Annapolis and back up to Laurel. Takes about 1.5hrs give or take and is a great mix of roads in the area.

I can do either Saturday or Sunday, which ever works best for who ever would want to join in. Loop kinda starts near Laurel so i think that is a good meeting place but i could meet anywhere as long as i am not going to far out of the way.

Let me know, It will be a controlled yet spirited ride nothing crazy so you will be able to ride at your own pace. I am not fast but if somehow i do start to pull away in the turns i slow down in the straights to keep everyone together

Should be a great weekend for riding
