Exhaust gasket question
I just bought a 2009 250r and I noticed a leak around the area where the mid pipe slips into the exhaust can. I took it apart and noticed the clamp was really loose. Is there supposed to be a gasket that goes in here or do you just crank down on the clamp?

Crank it. I always put some RTV silicone on the mating surfaces, though. Has always worked for me.

Thanks for the quick response. I cranked it down and it looks good. I'll start it up tomorrow and see if it leaks. If it does then I'll go buy some RTV sealant and crank down again.

Mine definitely came with a gasket, just put my slip on on last week.

Just saw some exhaust gasket in a can at Walmart. What was on there was some flaky conforming metallic looking thing which was wrapped between that slotted sleeve thing and the the outer portion.
