to change the oil:

let the engine stop working

texas seems to be the hotbed of this brand. maybe 1 of the tx members of this forum can do a field trip to one of these dealers. check out the ad below, one model is even called ninja:

Our Motorcyles are built to the same high quality standards as name brand products such as Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Vespa, and Polaris but are mostly priced at below half the price of the name brand motorcycles and scooters. Some parts are actually manufactured at the same factories as the name brands Motorcycles and Scooters. In order for our customers to have peace of mind, we extend a full year engine warranty, please see our warranty section for details.

250cc Motorcycle Kungfu 250
Regular Retail: $4,200.00
Summer Special: $1,895.00
200cc Motorcycle Ninja LB200-2
Regular Retail: $3,999.00
Summer Special: $1,376.00

Hey, don't completely knock the Chinese bikes. They are coming along. I owned a Chinese-made Loncin 200 for a year in Mexico and it was a decent bike.

Also Lifan (another China-brand manufacturer) which, I believe, is based out of the Dallas/FW area.
My very first bike was a Lifan LS-200B "sport bike." Needless to say I found out during my research (most of which I did after I purchased the bike ) that mine was called a "gray bike." It had been imported into the US w/o getting the proper paperwork through the EPA for emissions. American Lifan would not recognize my bike and I couldn't buy any parts for it.
And I'd have to disagree about their statement: "our bikes are built to the same high quality standard..." I don't know about that. I constantly had issues with that bike. Oil leaks, electrical wiring issues, mechanical failure, etc. It seemed like almost every day there was a new issue. Our Ninjettes are made SOOOO much better than those bikes ... trust me.

This makes sense...seeing as how kung-fu is obviously the chinese equivalent to Ninja.

Shouldn't that thing be called the Shaolin 250?

I had a 50cc scooter, a Manco Hornet several years ago. For how cheap it was the quality was great. It had its quirks(It only ran when it felt like it) and it left me stranded more than a few times, but I put several thousand hard ridden miles on it, I even took it off road, and it never fell apart or put my life in danger.

My point is not all of the cheap Chinese products are cheaply made death traps.
For the cheap small novelty bikes, if I was in the market for one I would not mind buying one of the better known Chinese brands, but for a full sized motorcycle I would stick with a major manufacture with a good warranty and easy to find parts.

Well aside from quality aspects... 17.5hp, 5 gears, 330 pounds, looks like crap (not an opinion, a fact), the front fork is probably of lower quality... not worth the $.

I have this bike.

Its a copy of the BMW 650GS. Mine is the yellow one. Pictures of the bike dont do it justice. Its actually quite nice looking in real life if you are into the BMW look.

As far as opinions of the bike.
Its comfortable, rather tall though, so shorter riders will have a hard time with it. Its BIG for a sport'esc bike.

As far as quality, its about what you would expect from a low cost chinese bike. If you are willing to check everything, and really keep an eye on all the nuts and bolts, it can be a ok cheap option bike.

It is NOWHERE near Ninja quality, or performance. Closer in performance to a rebel 250.
