That meeting spot is just for the possible MD rt17 trip on the 15th. I will likely not be attending the skyline drive meet.

I guess It's safe to say that we can make a new thread for the skyline "stroll"

The skyline drive "stroll" is gonna be on A Saturday, October 22nd. Meeting place is at Sheetz in Haymarket Virginia, Time is still undecided. What do you guys think of 9am or 10am? earlier?

Do you guys want to do the whole skyline drive or just half? It's gonna take approximately 3 hours to ride the whole skyline.

Please bring your cold weather gear. According to weather.com the weather averages on that day is gonna be to 65 hi - 40 lo.

Address:

Sheetz‎
15315 Washington Street
Haymarket, VA 20169

I would have to say that I still consider myself a new rider and I don't have a stand alone GPS, so If anyone wants to lead the group please do. I'm afraid that I would mess-up the whole group if I lead.

Who's coming?

1.kaiserz
2.hoodadooda
3.hoodadooda's friend
4.jamesio

5.kcaja1 ?
6.Live2ride ?
7.Momaru ?
8.gogoKawi ?
9.Honko ?

I might be able to get 3 more 250 riders to come and join

I have to say, that sheetz is an awesome place to meet up. I got gas there the other day for 15-20 cents cheaper than anywhere else I've seen . Plus I already know where it is . I really really really hope I can go.

I just found out we have a wedding party planned on the 22nd . I'll have to probably work all day; if I can convince my manager to bring me in at say 3pm then I might be able to make it if it's an early ride. Unfortunately I think they want me to work open to close.

I should definitely be there for the 22nd ride. Had potentially conflicting events with my girlfriend, but those have since been rescheduled.

I vote for 10am meet time in Haymarket since that'll let me sleep in til 5am, instead of needing to get up at 4am to make the ride.

I'm with Momaru on the meeting time being 10 a.m. Not quite as far away as he is, but sleep is nice.

I hope I end up being able to go. I'd probably have to wake up at 8:30am . hehe.

If I am able to go, maybe we could meet up on your way past my town and ride up to Haymarket as a duo. I know where it is.

I guess the meet-up time is 10am then. One more question, do you guys want to do the whole skyline? that's aprox 3 hours one way + break/rest.

I'm happy either way. If we don't do the whole thing, I might ask for recommendations of other good roads in the area, esp twisties. If that winds up being the case, anyone else will be more than welcome to join/lead

No sense in riding 4 hours one-way to go home early

Sounds like the whole 9 yards, unless there's a lot of objection. I'll probably still wanna find some twisties along the way (or more likely afterward), just fair warning

Would love to meet up with ya on the way in. Pretty much always a good idea to travel in a group. Maybe you can show me a good place for second breakfast in town before we head out, or at least somewhere with a good cup o' tea. After a pre-dawn wake up and 3 hours of superslab, I may be a little

Guys change of plan.

We're gonna change the meeting place to

Shell
10 South St # 1, Front Royal, VA
(540) 635-1499

it's more practical, so we can just gas-up and go strait to skyline (:

Ok everyone, I'm off work the 22nd and it seems that the weather will be in the mid 60's and sunny / partly sunny on Saturday . One question though, I figured I'd take my 250 to the group ride since it is a ninjette specific ride; but I just got my zx6r insured and was wondering which one you guys would prefer that I ride? I can't remember the last time I went there (way before I started riding) so I figured it would make more sense and be safer to take the 250, right?

Great! I was hoping you would be able to join.

As far as which bike to ride, it is ultimately up to you, but I think ninja 250s look awesome in packs and I highly recommend you take the more comfortable one since you will spend a considerable amount of time in the saddle.

the problem is the zx is more comfortable, but the 250 is the 250 which is all that needs to be said....250 it is

I just realized if we do end up having the family get together on the 22nd it would probably be in the late afternoon/evening, so I am definitely up for going! (if I can get up).

I live in Fairfax so if any of you are near and want to meet up somewhere and ride to the official meet up spot (an hour ride in itself, for me at least) let me know.

I support this decision! From what I've seen of your 250, I bet it looks even better in person.

You think the ZX is comfier than the 250? I would have figured it to be the other way around because of the riding position. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to actually ride one yet...

I live near the intersection of 211 and 229(Rixeyville Rd.). There's a shell gas station/711 right at the intersection of the two. Idk if anyone else is going to be going through there but I'd be happy to meet up and ride to the main meeting point from there.

Ummmmmmmm.........well......about that, hehe. The vinyl job I did to the bike has begun to show some serious signs of wear (some spots have worn through the vinyl, others were peeled up from rocks and such hitting them. From 10 ft away it looks cool though . I hope to redo some of the vinyl over the winter because a few pieces could really use it. I guess she could use a wash too .

My bike needs a wash too... but that's after I finish checking over everything to make sure she is mechanically perfect for Saturday. Only a couple of things left like giving my chain some well deserved love and attention.

Don't forget chain lube after the wash
