Pants for a Short Female Rider

So I'm having trouble with my daughter. She's a very fashion conscious 16 year old and looking cool is more important that being well protected on a bike to her. (I'd dress her up like the Michelin Man if I could)

I've got her a helmet, gloves, a jacket she is happy with, and boots. Problem is finding her pants. At 5'0" all the pants she had tried on have knee padding/armor that only protects her shins.

Anyone know of good gear for a short rider?

No clue, but you might want to look into Bohn armour, it's a system you wear under regular clothing, https://www.bohnarmor.com/ and they have a line especially for women http://www.msbohnarmor.com

I've been using the Bohn system for several years now. They have a full line of armour systems, including back protection, replacement armour for regular gear, etc..... You also might want to consider it for yourself.

Also show your daughter Britney "Queen B" Morrow's website, and the organization she started when she learned the hard way about gear. I personally know her, and she's truly an amazing person.

That Bohn armor may work, she could get the shorts with separate knee protector which would solve the problem.

They also have some specials running right now for multiply orders.

If you look at pants on Revzilla.com they have a "Short Sizes" option that will show you all the ladies pants they have in a short size.

I'm not a short chick, at 5' 7", but even I can't use the knee armor that comes in my pants. I'm super skinny and they move around. I opted for separate knee armor and just take out the armor in the pants. I feel much more secure is way.

hard to tell in the pic but, the pants are great. They are mens, the Japanese pants are short too.

Have you considered the Dianese textile or leather pants? Most of them are geared for shorter riders. I've gone with Dianese because that is the only gear that fits my form. ...tough to get it over my tush sometimes but it is my go to for choices.

She tried on a pair of Dianese Jeans and didn't like them. But it was the only pair of dianese pants any of the dealers had.

I had to go to the Motogp race in Indy to find the RS Tiachi pants. it's the only place I ever found with a large selection (everyone was there, A*, RS, Dianese, etc.). None of the other brands fit as well or were as comfy.
I prefer leather, means and textile do not protect as well.

My Wife & I both wear dirt bike full shin/knee guards under riding pants with pants knee armor removed. My Wife wears children sized shin/knee guards since she is 5'2".

Is this more for a street look than a track look? (I know; it's to protect her!)

Whatever you do: don't tell her what some almost 60 year old geezer thinks looks cool but I think it a safe bet most would agree; not much looks cooler than a great one or two piece leather suit with a ponytail peeking out from the helmet! I had a quick look at the Dianese website (Dianese.com). There's some great pics of women riders in gear. Choose "Pants", "Leather", "Woman". Let her explore the pages. There's a sizing chart for each style and when you scroll down that page; there are sizing sections for both shorter and taller than average riders. There are other options than leather but I'll leave it for you to explore. For me the rule is leather because of the protection.
I can confirm: my 17 & 16 year old Grandaughters agree; lots of the styles are cool!
Yes...cool is going to cost you!
