Hong Kong Rotors... Got Em'

Just wanted to show some people on here in case they were interested a rotor I recieved today for the turbo 250.

I needed to replace the rear rotor and I could either find a stock one, spend a lil over $100 for a aftermarket to spin the dice on a set from Hong Kong.

I spent $38.99 for a rear rotor shipped to my door. Bought on 8/1/14 and delivered today 8/11/14 so 10 days total.

Anyways believe it or not it looks pretty decent! straight as an arrow BUT this rear rotor is about 6mm smaller than stock so there is 3mm of brake pad that is not making contact

This will still work for me and I'm not really worried about it, going to ride it around tomorrow possibly to see how it grabs other than on the stand.

One more of the bike... Dont mind the way to long brake line, that is just temporary lol....

Looks ok for your application. Drag bike, Texas mile and such. Wouldn't run it daily tho.

agreed, smaller diameter and less surface area with the larger holes. Looks neat though.

Yeah I measured with a vernier caliper this morning and its short by just a few mm which isnt that big of a deal. My old 10r was missing 5mm of bite on the front rotors for quite a while until I machined down the calipers lol....

I'm not to worried about it but I am in contact with the manufacture and they are asking questions about fitment so maybe they will correct this problem

I have a Chinese rotor on my front end. I have nothing but good things to say about it. close to 2k on it.

as far as the rear, run whatever. Have you ever seen rojo's rear rotor? he cut it out himself there is nothing to it, it's pretty bare minimum

My only concern with your set up is it looks like the pads are getting full bite which means that after the contact part of the pads wears down say 2mm on each side, the part of the pad that is not getting worn will stick out enough to hit the other side that isn't getting worn which in turn = your brakes no work so good.

WOWZERS those are cut down just a little bit huh! lol... looks good though!

Yeah I had that same thing happen to my 10r with the 5mm missing but my pads never get worn down that far to where it would make them touch.... that and a wizzwheel will take them down a little if you needed to..... for my purposes it will do no problem.

Do you have a photo of your front brake rotor?

It is a 320 mm Arashi ? I think that's it, they probably make normal sized ones as well.

Ha! Looks like this is made by the same brand.... This part number is DBS069W for this rotor and is made by Arashi...

I was just doing some research on that company and almost every thread is the same, someone bought them, has nothing but good things to say but just a few people doubting them.... I dont think they look that bad!

I cant seem to find a 290mm front rotor for the 250 though, they only have a 310mm

sounds like an excuse to go the way of the larger rotor! Might not be a bad idea considering how much extra power/speed you're going to attempt to add to your bike. The 250 brakes are sufficient for what they need to do, but for higher speeds, I'd want a larger rotor for heat dissipation and less finger force at the lever.

Believe it or not I'll be ditching the front rotor....when you have a mile to slow down a rear brake is all you really need.
