Things that make you miss a track day...

1. Lack of a truck to get your bike there
2. A sore/rash looking thing pop up on the top of your head that makes wearing a helmet almost unbearable.

So now I get to just not go to the track, losing all the cash I put on it. I couldn't even stand a simple ride to the gas station. I was outside all day today getting the bike ready for the track. Pulling fuses, changing the oil, flushed the brake fluid, chain lube, etc. I took a shower and felt a burn on my head. My wife looked at it, and her eyes got big, asking me if I hit my head. Umm no.

Now I'm stuck, my head hurts because of that thing. My wife looked it up and she said she things it is scalp ringworm. Where the heck do you get that? I don't care what it is, I'm just upset that I lost my cash for the track day and I can't even wear a helmet comfortably to the gas station...I can't imagine what a whole trackday would feel like.

maybe just go to the track anyway w/o the bike to get a feel of the non riding part of track life? you paid for it anyway.... may as well get something out of it if you can stand the head pain.

instead of being at home and wishing you were at the track, you can be at the track and wish you were riding. It's not much, but it's a step up from staying home and moping.

Mark i think Kelly just wants to live vicariously though you. Hes still bitter that hes got no tracks around him

What I wouldnt give for some of those roads though...

But yea like Kelly said...already paid for it. Might as well go and watch some other riders and just get the feel for the track day experience.

I've lived around drag strips for years. I've been to the road track once, but it just feels wrong to me to go to a track day and not participate. It is like a SIN. I'd rather sit at home.

Was this just a track day? Or was it a track day and school?

I was going to use my brother-in-law's truck. He needed it today.

i dunno about your track org, but ours allows you to corner work for credit. sometimes i'll work the first half of the day then ride the second half free, or work the entire day and have a day credit to use whenever i want.

sounds like its too late now, but there are more ways to participate without riding. if you've never worked a corner i highly recommend it. it can get a bit boring, but you'll learn a lot about how the track operates and about lines and body position

Good call. I'm actually planning on doing just that. So I figure I'll do a full day of working, then head out to the next track day for free (maybe when it is a bit cooler outside).
