What do you use for shade at the track
We've used folding canopies in the past, the cheap ones ($150 and less), 10 x 10 and a 10 x 20. Even though they were tied down and didn't blow away the wind broke the cross truss bars. We now have a better (I hope) more expensive 10 x 20 that we've used one windy weekend and it survived intact. Just wondering what you use.

Same type as yours, but only about 9x9, I think. But then with my daughter and me sharing one motorcycle, the canopy normally has about one person under it at a time. It's hard to imagine a better kind of shelter, since these set up so quickly and are pretty durable.

Caravan 10x10 bought at Costco 10 years ago. One person pop up pop down and treated rough: it is very durable, simple, adjustable etc. Best $200 (CDN) I ever spent motorcycling!

I've used the cheap ones you speak of. Ez up or something along the lines. Not really many situations. Perhaps they should have vents for the canopy?

I use QuickShade 10'x10' canopies. Same price range. I used to lose about one a season. Started saving some of the unbroken pieces while making a point of always buying the same model. Soon was able to just replace broken parts from saved parts.
P.S. Don't track my bike yet (still a new rider) but I race Spec Miata. We face the same issues dealing with weather in the paddock. |

Here's a link to the one I just got,
http://www.ecanopy.com/ucc-uc-2p20w.html it's an Undercover brand http://www.getundercover.com/catalog...y=professional they don't list the 10 x 20 anymore but it's the same as this 10 x 10, I wonder if they quit making it as all I find now are "out of stock" at other retailers and it's not on their web page now.

I have a basic 10x10 that I got from (IIRC) Dick's Sporting Goods. I think the brand is Quest. One nice thing is that it's got a removable wall...as the sun starts to intrude it gives some nice additional shade.
Mine is one of those with angled legs, so they can market it as "12x12" even though the canopy is 10x10. This turned out to be a mistake. The legs tend to splay out, which makes the canopy loose. Straight legs are better. Pro tip if this happens to you... I took two long pieces of paracord and tied them to the feet to make a big X that spans opposing corners at ground level. Using trucker's hitches, I put tension on these. Makes the whole thing very sturdy and rigid, and the canopy is nice and tight.

I got some cheap Ozark tent from Walmart. It does the job, although the velcro straps are starting to die and one of the legs is now slightly bent haha.
