I'm always pessimistic about 250-500cc bikes ever being the "next big thing" in the states. But reading this one definitely made me

I'm glad to see people giving some attention to the little bikes. I'm seeing a lot of riders on R3s, little Ninjas, and KTMs.

I think the manufacturers making the 300s mimic supersport styling is finally getting people to stick with the small bikes. Before, everyone was stuck with old styling for the small bikes, so the only way to get that supersport look was a supersport or SV650S.
I've seen a ton of 300s at the track this year, which has been awesome. |

we've had 30-40 bikes in the ultralight weight class, 15-20 bikes in both 250ss and 350ss classes. I race it cause its fun and cheap.

Good to see this...
I've always thought that if you have not mastered everything about riding a small displacement bike, what in the world makes anyone think they can handle or master a larger displacement monster? When my Ninja 250 becomes the thing that limits my riding ability, and not my own skill level, then it's time for a larger, more powerful bike. Unless I get a good deal on a Yamaha FZ-09, in which case, oh hell yeah! Although I'd probably keep it in throttle setting B most of the time... accidental wheelies are not cool with me. |
