Be mindful of where you park your motorcycle on garbage day

...or it could end up in the trash

Sounds like a bunch of retards on both ends. Guy parks his bike on the curb/side of the street as opposed to in the driveway, or other options. Trash guys "think" a motorcycle is a couch.

Who knew couches had two wheels! More like dumb and dumber saw a nice bike and thought it would be funny to crush it, then being idiots, thought people would believe them when they say they believed it was a couch.

His bike was probably hit by another car first or something or the trash collectors reassessed their assumption after seeing it in the exact same spot next to the trash for weeks (like it was still waiting for pick-up). I wonder if it had an extended swingarm on it.

Oh, and it sounds like everyone involved just loves saying "sportsbike."

Lol. I was thinking the same thing. Does it really matter that it specifically was a "sportsbike"? Heh.

Still hilarious though. Saw this on jalopnik earlier. Poor guy...time for him to take the cash and upgrade

To what? Not much bigger than a ZX14.

Anyway, I had assigned parking right next to the dumpster at my last apartment complex. One of the lids had been damaged for a long time (only one side of the hinge attached) and yet the trash guys continued to operate normally for months. Eventually, the lid fell off, hit my bike, and the disappeared, meaning that they took it with them. It left a big mark but it did polish off. I was ready to make those guys pay!

lolwut? Are you really saying people who park their vehicles on the side of the road/curb (where its perfectly legal to park ur vehicles in residential areas?) What kind of backwards logic is that.

Heh, guess that's true... busa? Lol.

Aw man. That sucks. I'd be really nervous about parking my bike anywhere near any trash cans or dumpsters, just because of all the commotion and carelessness that I know goes on around trash cans via the garbage men.

Yeeeaaahhh...my bike is soft and cushiony like a couch too, my couch on the other hand is hard as rock, has two wheels and backfires on occassion when I recline it The city should fire those two A**holes before they decide to crush a person in their truck for a lark too. There's no way they didn't know that was a bike, they just didn't give a f**k!!

Lol, I was going to say the same thing. Don't see how the owner is responsible at all. He parked his bike infront of his house where he's parked it for the past couple weeks. My money is on the trash collectors knowing it was a bike and thinking it'd be funny to crush. Definitely should lose their job imo.

I think this was a setup. He must have wanted/needed a new bike. Not riding for 8 weeks? Why? I smell fish.

I'm saying why would you park your bike on the curb (particularly where you put your garbage to be picked up) when you have a perfectly good driveway. Apparently you lack reasoning, we'll leave it at that.

From the video, the driveway looks like it's gravel/dirt so not sure I'd really park it up there either unless I had something to put under the kickstand. Even then, I think it's funny to say that it's his fault for parking infront of his own house and especially when it's been parked there before with no issue. =/

Seems like a horrible excuse to say it was a couch. Since when do couches even weigh as much as a motorcycle?

Binmen Throw Away Kawasaki!

Story here.

I can't imagine a group of people being quite that dumb. I suspect they did it for some other reason: maybe the bike owner had pissed them off and it was revenge. Maybe they planned to steal it but accidently crushed it after putting it in the back!
