ZX-3R Decail variation...

Spacep0d made some nice 300 decals, but I wanted something a little different, and just a solid color. So I made myself some of these...

I'll make 'em available to forum members for $8 shipped (2) in white. If you're willing to front the cost of a 12x12 vinyl sample, I can cut them in any color.

Let me know what you think.... Cheers, ~Ted

Very nice, looks similar to the ZX2R graphics I had made, in reflective silver vinyl.

Looks good.... Just noticed that my lower "Kawasaki" in silver is a decal, so I can remove it and do all white...I was debating between white and silver and silver, but I want the high contrast for night riding, and I'll be using reflective vinyl.... I like the "chrome" vinyl, but I'd have to see it all done up in that to know if that would look proper. When I'm done, my bike will look like this:

My reflective silver vinyl goes well with my color scheme of my bikes, the white would definitely contrast with your black, silver might go nicely with the other chrome of your bike.

Also if you notice the reflective silver rim tape as well, it definitely stands out at night when the lights hit it. Plus it adds added visibility at night.

I also added a red reflective vinyl ninja logo on the taillight, I felt the need due to the rear fender chop.

What are the dimensions and how much would it cost for the reflective vinyl?

Reflective is $5 / 12x12 and I can make any size you want within 6x12 (to still get 2.) If you need bigger, I can probably find a 12x24 sheet, but price goes substantially up. However, if you buy the bigger sheet I'll cut (2) NINJA's on it for $2 more.

And regarding the "ZX" family, this decal allows the bike to be a Poseur GP bike, much like I'm a poseur GP rider. And it's mine, so I'll call it whatever I'd like. "EX" isn't as cool. LOL

Uhh, sorry guys, if you want a ZX-2R, you're talking about the 90's era 250cc inline 4.

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-kawasaki+zx2r/k0

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Ninja_ZX-2R

Putting ZX-2R or ZX-3R on a twin cyl is just tacky

Noted mate, but not too many people know that.

Is it fair that Kawasaki used the ZX on all ninjas, except the 250, 300,500, & 650 they call them ninjas, but not ZX.

Overseas the Ninjette is called the gpz, and another version with an aluminum frame is called the ZZR250.

So call it what you want, technical is it a real ninja? Or not?

There's no accounting for taste....or lack therof. And everyone has their own opinion. I'm making what I want, and offering it to other who may not have the capability. If you'd prefer an "EX-300" sticker, I can do that too.....

Got some work done to it tonight, decided on plain white instead of reflective. Cheaper, and conforms to curves better, and I already had some!

What do you think?

Looking good! Is it me or does the ZX-3R decal look a few degrees off compare to the fairing? Would you happen to have a pic of how the ZX-3R would look if the R was a (few) font sizes smaller?

How about reflective black?

I went with reflective orange on my custom orange 91 EX500, they have a ghost effects in daylight, but at night it looks awesome IMHO, the reflective orange rim tape adds to the effect.

On SERENITY I was going for the same looks, and effect, but the reflective silver vinyl was a lighter shade than the OEM silver, but I think it turned out okay in the end, it's subtle in the day, and reflect very well at night. All SERENITY'S graphics are done in reflective silver, including the rim tape.

judge for yourselves.

Yes, but due to the fairing layout, it was a choice between parallel stickers or following the fairing contours... Parallel won.

I don't have smaller zx-3r pics, but I'm going to put some on tail. Will post later.

Cheers, ~Ted

Redid the ZX-3R decals to align with fairing, like it better:

Added rim tape and I'm thinking of what to put in the gap between the NINJA and the KAWASAKI....probably going to do the small diamond shapes like on the original bike.

I'm in the process of designing a tidy tail that will use the OEM taillights but pull them in another few inches and move the plate up....separate thread for that.

Looks much cleaner having it run with the fairing. Reflective black or red would be neat for my bike...decisions!

Black on black, especially reflective black, don't forget the matching reflective rim tape.

Need full black gear and blacked out lights as well. I want to replace the rim tape on mine since I don't like the full circumference, just gotta figure out how to get it off cleanly.

Reflective decal would be nice for the stealth look and red would be nice to make it pop.
