Question about foot pegs.
Ok I bought a 2000 Ninja 250. It's the green with purple stickers. I am debating on removing the stickers and putting something a little nicer then the purple. But anyways, I bought flush mount blinkers for the front which the base is carbon fiber. I am buying a gas tank cover, well a plastic sticker that covers the fuel cap which is carbon fiber and new blinkers that are black. My question is do you think I should go with carbon fiber foot pegs for back and front or just go with straight black? The carbon does look pretty nice but at the same time I don't want it to clash/look weird. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My advice... Take the MSF course and buy all of your safety gear before spending any money on cosmetic mods. Also, make sure all of your bike maintenance items are up to date.

I have my motorcycle license. I took the test about 10 years ago. Way before I even knew about the MSF test.Even aced it didn't miss 1 cone.Still may join the course though to see if my insurance gets any lower. 100.00 a year is pretty nice, but lower is always better.I have Been riding since I was a little kid on dirt bikes in the hills of pa. Use to have a 82 Virgo 750 but sold it, and now I bought this 1 to get back into riding again. I have gear already just trying to make the bike a little more appealing. ALso the bike is fully maintenanced. The people I bought it from the guy is a ex motorcycle racer and a mechanic of over 30 years. Very nice people even gave me the copy of maintenace records and anything that was ever done on the bike. A steal for 1200.00 imo. I'll post a pic of it once I get it resized to upload it.

Id go with black ones. The carbon ones would scratch up pretty easily I would think.

great! as far as the MSF, take the course when you have a chance. It's not only about practical application of riding skills, but of putting one's head in the proper frame of mind to have a safe and controlled time aboard a motorcycle. I took the course about 40 years after I started riding and I found it very informative.... a must do, in my book. 10% discount on your insurance, too.
as far as pegs... do they even make CF pegs for the pregen? At any rate, I'd stay with something disposable as you'll be scraping pegs in no time. pics are always appreciated on this forum! |
