Have you taken a MSF?

Your video reminds me of my first (and hopefully last) opportunity to test my leathers. I thought I was going wide and focused on that rather than going through the turn. This was prior to my MSF class. I had to think to react. Had I had my MSF, I would have turned more (I think) instead of mentally locking up and laying it down.

It looks like you went in a bit fast, but I'm confident more lean and throttle would have gotten you through. But that's easily said when I'm not in the situation!

Glad to hear you're ok though and not seriously injured. And I'd rather lay it down early in my career and grow from it.

I hope for a speedy recovery! Were you able to ride the bike home or did it need a tow?

Glad you are fine. Might I suggest proper gear next time? Keep at it. Remember- unless you hear hard parts dragging or feel tires wiggling, you can lean more.

Yes, I was able to ride the bike home. My frame sliders took most of it. No damage to fairings. Just my left turn signal came off. I just put it back on.

I went back to my crash site to get my confidence back, lol.

Glad you're okay! It looked like it could've been worse! The revisit video doesn't count. Jeep in the way and you were traveling slower

target fixation is a no-no. I decided to try it for the first time couple months ago while riding GMR and almost ate it. I was curious about how so many people say target fixation was the cause of their crash. Luckily, I didn't crash but came VERY VERY close to hitting the curb around the twisties. Hope you're okay and recover soon.

Glad your okay - happy to hear the damage to the bike and rider were minimal - no damage to fairings is rare even with sliders.

Target fixation/Survial Reactions are the harest things to over come. I have tried riding with my eyes closed, but the result was no better.

The rash on my bike is a constant reminder not to target fixate.

Nope. I never really cared for them. The rashed fairings make my bike unique and stand out.

You know, there is no limits on the amount of times you can retake the MSF course right?

Strangely enough target fixation has never been a problem for me. I certainly have had plenty of opportunities to do it but somehow just kept on thinking "let the bike do the work, keep looking that way, not at the gravel". I credit this to having watched TotWII about 5 times before even buying my first bike.
First (and so far only) crash has actually been due to deathgrip (on my D675, I would have been fine on 250).
At the last track day I've found, to my complete surprise, when I was off the line and trying to tighten up the turn, that instead of thinking "omg I'm gonna run off!" I had a quick "Ok, so if I tighten up too much and lowside here...meh, it's bound to happen eventually" thought.
