Question Sewing on a zipper - AGV mesh

So I have the AGV Solare mesh jacket that came without the zipper. I finally got some AGV Airtex pants that have the zipper.
I will have it sewn on by the tailor or dry cleaner. But where to zip it on the jacket? Is it placed for fit with the pants or somewhere more specific?

Thanks.

I am assuming you mean a short zipper (6 to 8 inches) to connect jacket to pants? If so generally look at the small of your back center to keep the jacket from riding up on you if you have a down.
