Sorry I have not posted in this thread for quite a while (I lost track of where it was located). I will be there both Sun and Mon. Plan on bringing a canopy and lots of drinks!. I live 20 mins away so I will just head home once the day winds down but I don't think I want to load/unload 2-3 bikes (hoping the 748 will be ready) twice. I may just get a garage spot since it will cost $50 for a canopy. I could easily arrive at 7pm on Sat and leave the bikes there till I go home Mon night. Let me know what you guys think. I might ride one of my bikes there and just pull the mirrors and lights off once I get there. The other bike(s) will be all ready before hand.

Ant:

Not sure but I think they said garage spots were rented per bike, not per person. Might be worth contacting Tony to make sure.

I'm planning on getting up there Saturday evening as well... arrival around 7 works for me. I've bought tires from MTAG, so my Saturday evening will be spent with a little bit of wrenching.

If you go for a garage I will too, just to have someone to hang with. If not I'll do the canopy thing. I'll show up with the canopy just in case. Given what we saw, I seriously doubt anyone outside will get to pit together unless by random chance we arrive at the same time. Those pits were crowded....

PM me your phone number and email, please, with a description of your vehicle. I MIGHT remember what you look like this time..... .

Anyone who wants my contact info, message me.

All that is left is for Tony to approve of the sale/transfer of the spots. Assuming he does... guess who is coming.

BTW, confirmed garages are per bike. Can't imagine it'll be worth it if you're bringing your whole freakin' fleet.

Tony confirmed and spots purchased! I WILL be a Connecticut rider for 2 days. Thank you two guys for all your help in the other forums to help me snag a spot.

Can't wait to meet and hopefully ride with you guys.

I will go pay homage to the Thompson shrine and make a sacrifice for perfect weather.

It will be just me under my 10x10 ez up. If you just wanna unload in my paddock spot and park your vehicle somewhere close that is cool too. 2 bikes fit easy under there.

I would think about a garage, but with my July plans/schedule, I gotta count pennies to stay within budget.

I am still unsure if I will do the garage or a canopy. I will make the decision soon but have been so busy getting the third bike running there has not been much time to do anything else. I really want to get the 748 ready since it has full track plastics(second set of beat up street)and new tires. The other two bikes are all set to go but I may end up riding one to the track as my friend will only be able to show for Sunday and he has the truck. I am working on getting a tralior but its not definite yet. I will be there with at least one bike and possibly in the garage or under a canopy that is all I am sure of right now.

Nice Ant! Good luck getting it ready.

I might be able to have my track r6 ready by go time, but I aint holding my breath. Otherwise, the race 250 it is... I got two bikes torn down in the garage right now.

Honestly, I feel the need.... the need for speed that can only be delivered by 600cc's. But I also remember, I have to play nice. I gave my I would.

I am excited to ride a new track and meet some cool peeps.

So... since I am not racing, I ask myself "which bike to bring?"

Ready to go r6
Race prepped 250
Newly purchased track r6

Maybe 2 of them? 250 and the new track r6. Hmmm.... I know I don't wanna spend time working on bikes in the paddock. I would rather be having a good time with new peeps.

I got it!

Will be bringing 2 of them. The 250 must come, after all... this is ninjette. The "ready to ride r6" is coming too as a B bike. Hauling all that way means, I gotta have every opportunity to ride without wrenching.

i was relieved when my 250 started this morning. I havent started it in about 6 months so i was worried about the carbs, thankfully, she fired up after a few tries and i let her warm up for a while. Revved through the whole range fine . COuldnt take it out for a ride since its still on stands getting parts, but one big worry is gone. Ill def have the 250 ready for the 21st now!

Jay;

I know you've got track fairings on that 250. IIRC you haven't painted them.

I've scored a set of new/used (never installed) bodywork. While waiting for it to get here I've been experimenting with "paint" on a spare piece of fairing. Actually, spray Plastidip (available at Lowe's or http://www.dipyourcar.com), because it's very forgiving, needs almost zero prep and can be peeled off if the results are awful.

They're not, in fact, awful. It looks pretty sharp. I made a few mistakes in masking and managed to fumble handling of the part, so there are some marks... lessons learned, which is the point.

I'm definitely going this route. Hopefully the pieces will get here in time.

This stuff leaves a semi-matte finish. There's a "glossifier" which I'm going to try once it cures to see what that does. Probably not needed... this looks good enough for the track to my eye.

The part you see here was matte dark blue. Coverage is really good. Just like regular paint, the key is multiple light coats.

I hate plasticdip, mine currently are plasti dipped though. When it wears or peels off i will switch to something else. I painted it over the winter

Dear god.... what have I signed myself up for. All I can say, is... somebody better party with me in the paddock or imma be super salty and have a sandy vagina for weeks. @choneofakind, if I take the northern route, you wanna go? I will offer free pizza. hahahahahaha

Which route should I take, since the flight is out of the question? Going through NY doesn't feel right unless there is a damn good reason.

Southern route will save you many many miles.

But...

Don't go through NYC. The traffic is ridiculous and the tolls extortionate (TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS to get across the George Washington Bridge with a single-axle trailer -- $13 for every additional axle above that).

You also wind up on I-95, which has a lot of traffic. Note that trailers are not allowed on parkways in the NY/NJ/CT area... which kinda sux because I live 1.5 miles from a parkway.

Instead, jog north to I-84 around Wilkes-Barre or wherever it makes sense. The bridge across the Hudson at Newburgh never has traffic and costs something like a buck. Or maybe a few bucks with a trailer. You have to head up north anyway, so might as well do it before you get to NYC.

84 will also get you most of the way to Thompson. Smooth sailing.

84 is a much better route than rolling thru NYC. I live just off of exit 1 once you reach the Mass line. You can take an exit in CT (GPS will tell you to get off around exit 70) or just stay on 84 till you cross into Mass. Take exit 1 and call me. I will ride down to meet you and show you how to get to the track since it is only 20-25 mins from my house. PM me if you want my phone # and I will be wrenching on the bikes all day Sat getting prepped for the track anyways.

I plan on coming to hang out at the track Sat night but will be headed home since its not a long drive. I don't know if it makes sense to load up the bikes and take them home Sunday night just to return Monday morning but we will see what happens. I still don't know which bike will be going yet and I still have to secure a tralior for Monday since my friend will have to work.

Not necessary since I will be riding one of my bikes to the track Sat night and then rolling them in on a truck Sun morn. You are welcome to stop by and see my house and collection of bikes if you would like.

Cool, let's see what kinda time I can make and how late I am running. lol I will pm you my cell, I will definitely take you up on the offer to guide me the final .5 hour's worth of miles.

If you want, you're more than welcome to leave your bike in my pit area overnight. I will keep watch over it but if it's anything like around my parts, you can leave it pretty much without worry.

Yeah, Ant, I wouldn't worry.

Of course, we might "decorate" your bike for you... you know, as part of the Premium Service Package.

I wonder how long it would take to unwrap a bike completely encased in duct tape? Hmmm.......
