Bay Area Group Ride Sat 3/23

Meet Place: Starbucks, 2707 McKee Rd, San Jose, CA 95127
Meet Time: Sat, 9AM, KSU 9:30AM 3/23/13

We will stop for lunch on the way back from Patterson at The Junction. We won't be eating at the first stop.
  • Come with a full tank of gas, there will be a gas station nearby to fill up at.
  • Make sure your bike is in good operating condition... (@lolibater)
  • We may break into groups depending on who shows up. There is only one way to go and no way to get lost though.
  • Experienced riders who wants to ride a mellow pace are always welcome.
  • Jason (@rojoracing53) has volunteered to lead and I will sweep. If I have more volunteers to lead/sweep then we can break into groups.
  • This is a mellow ride, all riding levels are welcome, however, If you have limited experience with these roads or with twisties in general, this may not be the best ride to go on. These roads are very technical and can be difficult for newer riders. PM me if you have questions.
  • Safety is the number one priority. Ride your own ride, do not try to keep up with the rider in front of you. We will not leave you behind.

The Route

We will ride Mt. Hamilton to The Junction with a couple stops in between to regroup. We will stop and rest at The Junction and continue on to Patterson. We will meet at a 76 Gas Station (15060 Rogers Rd, Patterson, CA 95363) in Patterson to refuel and then head back to The Junction for lunch. Afterwards we will take Mines to Livermore. Depending on who splits off and how everyone is feeling we can take Calaveras back to San Jose.

This is a long ride, 119mi and approximate 4 hours of seat time + pit stops and lunch.

If I were shooting on my own, sure. Not when I'm forced to stand around waiting all day.

Looks like I might be able to come along after all. I don't think I'll go to Livermore though and head home on the way back from Patterson instead.

Doesn't everyone start riding at 6am no matter when and where the meeting spot is at or is that just me

Last Thursday I got in 540 miles and 9.5 hrs of riding I got in a ton of twisty roads as well as some cool roller coaster straits. I even have a new top speed via GPS of 109.8 mph

Jiggles did we in its the barf mellow group?

I can do part of the ride and maybe meet with y'all in either Patterson or at the Junction. I'll see if Alan can join us with his streamliner or his stock 2004 pre-gen. Around what time do you get to some of the stopping points?
1st stop at the Junction?
Patterson?
Lunch at the Junction?
Thanks

Just got done with my 1650 mile weekend of riding and since I haven't killed my tires yet I should be good to go for this. @CycleCam303 joined me for the final stretch over Hamilton and he said he's in as well.

Road conditions look good

I'm a maybe for this one. Need to be back home by 3, which should be doable if I head back over the mountain after lunch rather than going up to Livermore.

That would make it a triple Hamilton accent day for me but whoever said to much of a good thing is bad

I'm sure the 250 noobs if any will love going down the San Jose side of Hamilton

Been back in the SJ area unfortunately I cannot make this one. I have a kids birthday party and a going away party to go to on Saturday. Also Tyke is has gone back to stalling at lights... Fiancee hasn't had a chance to look at that yet.

@greenaero sorry dude forgot about you! I'm expecting each leg of the journey to take around an hour possibly more depending on what the pace is. So we should hit the junction between 10:30-11:00
