Sourcing a Frame Slider Engine Bolt
So in my haste to button my motorcycle back up, I tore my front upper engine bolt head off
I'm tryna figure out where I can find a replacement. I have Shogun no cut frame sliders (not 100% as it was bought by precious owner, but the hardware looks like Shogun when comparing to pics online). I think they come with their own engine bolt mount that's longer than the OEM (?) Does anyone know if these bolts are longer than the OEM? Otherwise I'm just gonna scour eBay for used Ninja two fiddy ones. |

Yes, bolts supplied with slider kit is longer than factory ones. Easiest to place jack under engine and remove bolt completely. Then line up the pieces to measure length to get replacement. Not likely you'll find in hardware store. I usually order them.

Update:
So I checked around and boltdepot.com didn't have a bolt that long. But I called Shogun (moto911.com) and was able to get a replacement bolt! Talking with them, I definitely overtorqued the bolt. OEM torque specs for the front engine bolt are 47 ft lbs, but using their bolt it's only 32 ft lbs. |

Looks like they supplied grade 8.8 bolts whereas factory is 10.9.

I believe him cuz I've gone down multiple times using the same sliders and no cut frame adapter, and the adapter feels just as stable as when I first got the bike. |
