Wire harness gutted and made in to race harness

Finally done. Only stuf that remains is whatever it needed to start, run, and charge. Wow thats a lot of crap! in the shot is a stock one on the right, modded on on left, and pile of junk on far left. I'll get a weight comparison poted up soon. Still have to add toggle ignition switch and Vapor tach and power leads. Huge sigh of relief when I plugged it all in and it still had spark and cranked over.

Wow! Good job!

I wish I was smart & patient enough to do this. Not worth the time & effort just to save small weight savings for me.

i cant WAIT for summer to get here!!!! hopefully the CRA lets Drew in this year....sounds like a good chance he will!! If not I will threaten them with me trying to fit into MY leathers that have been in the closet for over 15 years....NOBODY is gonna want to see that! the 250 class is gonna be a BLAST!!

what else have you "trimmed" as far as weight goes, other than the gauges? i trimmed alot of the tabs, and other unecessary pieces that are all over the frame. be nice to shed about 50#'s or more off these girls. just getting rid of all the factory plastics, clipons, rearsets, EXHAUST(heavy pig there) has to cut at least 30# i would think.

Without a doubt 30lbs I'll bet. Not much more to trim, got all the tabs and brackets off that I can. New alloy upper bracket sholud be done maybe today(at welder). Went with the Cycle Pirates throttle kit too. Skrawny will do up R rotors like the one pictured. Hit him up on MNSBR.
I can"t wait to get a final race weight! Where to do it though...

Race wiring resistor needed? Questions.

Hi, I am building a 2012 race bike and want to remove unneeded wires and the ignition switch. Question... do you have to add a resistor to the system (i did on my SV650) when removing the ignition switch. If so, which wires do the resistor bridge? Thanks for the info! John

Every relay and sensor that doesn't make it start, run or charge. All that is left is the starter solenoid, stator, reg/rec, cdi box, toggle ignition, and start/stop/run switch.
