Radar guns are surprisingly sensitive, and have no issues picking up motorcycle speeds no matter what paint finish is applied. The advances in the guns track the advances in electronics that we are all familiar with, and they work quite well.

Then I wouldn't trust that particular officer to shoot the guy holding me hostage, cuz his aim must be terrible then. That or the technology is a little too much for the Empire State's budget allowance. He never even said "do you know how fast you were going?". Clear indicator that you're getting a speeding ticket

I guess I'm the only one that got yelled at by a cop because my bike was too quiet. I was in a hurry one day and I saw this cop in an SUV doing 80 in a 55 zone. There are two lanes per side so I got in his blind spot just to the left and behind him. I figured that if he's doing 80 then he wont mind me tagging along. Got up to the light and he pulled next to me and started yelling out the window. "I couldn't tell where you were. Your bike is too dam quiet!..." In reality I was about 50 feet behind him and in a different lane so there was virtually no way he could squish me.

When the light turned green I just bolted. He was in an SUV. He took after me but I was a good half mile away by the time he caught up. I made a point not to go faster than 55 when he was behind me. Then he rode my blind spot for about a quarter mile and I turned off.

Some cops fuss about everything. I regularly ride behind SUV's and use them for radar blockers. Usually works pretty good.

18-wheelers work good too. You can really gain a lot of ground behind them. If they're doing 55, you can go quite a distance incognito going from their rear to front.

I got myself a new pair of gloves too! The old ones got designated to mountain bike use, since they're all discolored for some reason, and I wanted some form of hand protection for mtb and better knuckle/palm protection for the ninja.

here's what I got.

here's what I had.

I would say that the thicker leather, along with more solid knuckle protection was a good purchase. And since they were on sale the day after christmas for $30 at State 8, it was not a waste of money on a new pair of gloves. I wanted some gauntlet gloves like these, but they were a little too expensive for me.

I figured mine were a decent compromise.

Not sure about the GoPro, but a lot of video cameras don't work right if you get slower (cheaper) SD cards. I use at least a class 10 rating.

I got a class 10. it says use class 4 or up. And you are correct. It has to do with the MBPS they upload? or download? er whatever you call it. I guess this one i was reading is older so now is classified as a class 6... idk should be ok though its 20mbps

I've got a class 4, 15mbs speed 8gb sd card in my hd hero 960. Can record max 960p at i think 30fps (I dont really care I record in 720 max at 30fps and right now it might be set to 480p lol) but it was $20 which was the cheapest 8gb I could find and it also says shock proof and heat proof which idk if that really means anything but will be useful for those hot summer days when i want to record my ride/vlog. Also for Christmas, I actually got my present early because I needed them, a pair of avon roadriders. WOW. Way better handling, slowly gaining more and more confidence in corners but they aren't fully scrubbed in yet so still taking it easy.

Got 2 sets of the same exact levers. The regular length adjustable ones from the2wheels, black w/ red adjuster.
If anyone in eastern PA wants to buy one, lemme know. (I'll prolly post a sale thread later).
Haven't installed them yet, but they'll look awesome on the black & red special edition!

I'm pretty sure they say that to trick you into admitting what your speed was. If you reply and tell him your speed, he has your confession of guilt and doesn't need to rely on any speed gun reading.

Whenever they've said that to me, I always say I was going within 10mph of the posted limit. Cuz their reply "well, I clocked you at..." Whatever the little gun said is what they put on the ticket. With all the laws I was breaking at that stop, speeding was the most obvious at a glance. Then the tailight, then the exhaust. He had no idea I was only on my permit till he pulled up my info. Totally reinforced my theory of not breaking more than one law at a time. LOL

I've heard that sometimes they ask the obvious to test to see if you are lying. A guy I know was cruising along in a souped up firebird and he got stopped. The cop says "Do you know how fast you were going?" He replies "No." The cop goes "How come is that?" He answers "Because the needle was pegged at 140." The cop started laughing out loud and let him off with a warning.

With the Ninja the speedometer is off anyway so I would answer "No I don't know the exact speed, but I probably deviated from the posted speed by about 10 mph." That way you can answer the question without admitting guilt.

I have this tank bag too and I LOVE IT! Did you know they discontinued it in this color? I was dead set on getting the pink one for myself last spring, and although I had a hard time tracking one down and getting it here, I finally got one and it's the perfect bag.

No, I don't and my bike is in our storage garage for the winter or I would just go snap one. However, I just did a quick Google search and came up with this:

It's the same bag, but in grey. I believe they do still make it in grey, black, and maybe white. It's called an Icon Primer Tank Bag.

I wasn't aware of that. I saw it earlier this year when I was shopping for my jacket, and my boyfriend must have bought it soon after or I imagine he would have had some trouble finding it as well. What a shame they would discontinue that color! The darker pink is so much better than the light pink they put on most stuff.

Yeah I'm not sure when exactly they discontinued it, but the only way to get one now is to locate it at a retailer.
Can't stand how hard it is to find any ladies gear with colors other than pink, especially Baby-Pepto-Cancer pink. Bleh!

Hey everyone! I received this sweet A-Stars GP-R leather jacket from my folks this Christmas!!! I was asked what they could get me. Which I told them not to worry about it this year, since money is tight for everyone. I'm the first in the family to get into riding so they told me they wanted me to stay safe... this is where this sweet jacket came into the picture! I was blown away! What do you think!?

Oooh! I like it. I tried to find one which could be worn as a backpack, but failed, so my current one I have to carry around like it's a suitcase.

I might get one of these now. I looked it up and there was also an Urban one too. Do you think it's worth the extra money?

Yeah it's way overdone. They could at least throw us a bone and give us the option of special ordering in other colors.

Urban - $95
Exclusive helmet carrier/protector securely holds rider's helmet
Water resistant 420 Denier ripstop construction
Contoured, padded shoulder straps for backpack mode
Bag measures 16' X 12" X 8"
Neoprene rubber tank pad
Integrated carrying handle
Breathable mesh back pad
Clear map holder

Primer - $50
Rubber mesh-skin backing for non-slip grip
Ribstop nylon chassis
Removable mesh backpack straps
Internal divider pockets
Exterior compression strap
Dimensions: 12"X12"X6"

I feel as if the primer might fit the ninja better being a smaller bike and all. Personally, the fact that the urban can hold your helmet doesn't help me much because I often just lock the helmet to the bike and leave it there. I guess the added confidence that you have your helmet with you might be worth something. It'd be nice to have the Urban due to the fact that it's waterproof and the clear map holder could come in handy since I don't have my ninja fitted with a GPS. The padded shoulder straps probably look a lot nicer than the mesh ones as well. Overall for me, at nearly double the price the urban doesn't offer a whole lot more, but if you need the extra space it might be necessary. For me, I'll just throw a backpack on myself for extra storage if I need to carry the stuff that bad.

I looked at both, and for me, I really liked the Primer better. About the same size as my usual purse, contours to the bike well, and I just think it's better looking.

Yes, I totally want more colors!

Agree with your view on the bags. If I do want to carry my helmet, I'm not going to do it attached to a huge bag. I'd get tired and feel like dragging it. Lol. And I just do like you said and wear a backpack if I need to bring a little extra with me.

You guys have sold me on the Primer!... shame no one will sell it to me Can only find it in black. I don't want any more black gear than I already have.
