[visordown.com] - Used Ear Peace HD earplugs

OVER the last couple of weeks, I’ve had a pair of Ear Peace HD earplugs nestled in my ears on the way to work and occasionally whilst at work. In fact, I’m wearing them right now to drown out the noisy office.

It’s important to note the purpose of these earplugs before reviewing them. Their aim isn’t to solely lower the ambient noise by all means necessary, but to lower the ambient noise without distorting the sound. That’s the idea, anyway.

They have an SNR rating of 19 or 20, depending on which filters you have in.

I have to say my ears aren’t good enough to differentiate a less distorted sound from one that is simply quieter. As a result, I couldn’t tell the difference in sound distortion between these and normal foam earplugs. I feel as though these let in more sound than your average foam earplug.

Each plug has a little silicone tab so that you can easily pull them out. They also go into your ear easily and don’t expand like regular foam plugs.

Something that was noticeable with these was comfort. After even 30 minutes of use, I find foam earplugs uncomfortable and begin to make my ear sore. This is accentuated when I’m wearing a helmet that compresses the foam further into my ear.

These on the other hand feel much softer, and I’ve been able to wear them for numerous hours at a time without much discomfort.

The filters are easy to change over, although I’d be impressed if you can notice the difference in sound levels.

The HDs come in an aluminium casing that carries three earplugs and the rest of the filters in a separate chamber.

Ear Peace’s plugs are made of hypoallergenic silicone and are reusable. If you find foam plugs particularly uncomfortable and you can hold onto a small item like this without losing it, then I reckon these are worth a go.

Price: £14.95 with free shipping from EarPeace.

It just so happens that we are giving a spare set away if you review your classic sportsbike or any other bike without a review!
