Post Underneath the Block Off Plate?

I recently purchased a block off plate and was wondering if the two holes under it leads directly into the engine.

If so, when installing the new plate would it possible to use some short of engine treatment (seafoam, B-12, etc.) and pour it directly into the engine?

I also cleaned out some junk under the gasket plate ensuring a seal for under the block off plate.

Leads strait to your cams if I recall, I'd say don't use sea foam there because you'll directly thin the oil in the cam area by a lot and that would be bad.

+1 Your camshafts float on journal bearings and it probably wouldn't be best to thin the oil in this area...or anywhere for that matter with an additive.

I think there is a widespread misunderstanding of what seafoam and similar products are, do, and how to use them. They are not a cure-all that you just use everywhere. If you change your filter and oil regularly you should NEVER have to add an oil treatment. Every now and then it won't hurt to put a little seafoam in the fuel tank to run through the carb, but even this isn't at all necessary or useful if the motorcycle is used frequently. Today's oils and fuels are really very good (at least what we have here in the states) and they keep things pretty clean inside the engine and fuel system.

Thanks guys, I was just wondering since I will have the plate off. I'll just install the new plate after I clean up the area under it.

This doesn't sound correct.

In all my other model bikes the block off plates go directly to the exhaust, the smog plates are there to pump fresh air into the exhaust to meet EPA standards.
Unless you're referring to another type of block of plate?

It leads to the top of the engine.
