It looks like the car had the right of way and was already into his left turn when the bike entered the intersection. It looks like the bike hit the car and not the other way around. Sorry I just call me like I see em.

Good video, Armend.

As I see it:

Car: Typical cager. Making a left turn with the bus blocking the view. More care was needed by watching and moving carefully. What if the bike had been a big truck?

Bike: Inexperienced rider. Moving too fast next to stopped traffic. Moving too fast thru and intersection with blocked view. Not enough avoidance maneuver (note that he moved the upper body but did not counter-steer).

I can't understand why posters frequently say they don't even wave or acknowledge riders on scooters

I never had a problem with one: I would rather share the road with 100 scooters than with 10 cars.

all the scooters i encounter go below 30 and just get in the way. if they are doing the speed of traffic, i have no qualms. but none do

Well... I don't hate on them, and I'll return a wave but here are a few reasons:
  1. Personally, if you can't figure out how to shift a bike, maybe you should stay on 4 wheels.
  2. They never wave back when I do wave to them.
  3. They tend to screw around on their cell phones a lot in traffic around here.
  4. Helmet? I'm on a scooter?
  5. They always park on the sidewalk. I do occasionally, but these jackholes block the damn sidewalk all the time.
  6. Scooter riders don't ever look before going.
  7. Slow. And I had a 250 for 3 years, and I'm heavy. But... slow. 50cc = roadblock.
  8. Share a lane? It's legal here for 2 two-wheeled vehicles to share a lane. I don't want to ride side by side with these idiots, but at a light move over to one side or the other, so when it changes, I'm not stuck behind your 50cc P.O.S.
  9. Stretched scooters. Lowered, too. The ricer of the scooter world. Maybe it's a Central Florida thing.
  10. Scooter shortcuts. Nothing like watching one of these retards take a shortcut down a sidewalk... while pedestrians are in it.

These don't always apply to every scooter, but there are a few reasons.

It's not an intersection. The car turned onto a perpendicular road and had no right of way.

At least the car driver blocked traffic with his car until the scooterist? got clear.

I rode a scooter for a year. Those things are dangerous. Newbies are better off with gsxr1000

I blame busses.. Or lifted trucks or huge SUVs I hate the fact I can't see over them nd with brake lights of 2-3 cars up. I don't trust one persons brake lights to save my life and tell me what's going on ahead.

But everytime im caught in these situations where I know theres a damn suv or some other large car in my way I'm always preparing for the worst.. Long story short, bus was the problem

I may be wrong here but it also looks like the biker (along with many others) is driving in a 'parking lane' and not a traffic lane to boot.
