Front bolt / fork question

So I got home today and this bolt is missing and you can clearly see though the assembly. I honestly don't know how I lost it as I drove about 50km and when I started it was there. Does anyone know what this part is called and if the bolt was there would it still be hollow?

Yes it will still be still be "hollow" from underneath the lower triple clamp. The bolt is not that long.

Okay, good. I didn't know if there was a bolt on the bottom too. How mission critical is this part? My parts store is closed on weekends..

I definitely wouldn't ride without it. You could probably get a way with it for a little while, but your steering bearings could theoretically loosen up and that's not really a good thing while at speed.
