Speedometer Question
Hey all,
I was going down the road after installing my new tires and koso gauges and hit a bump which caused my speedometer to quit working. I have taken the wheel back off to see what I did wrong and realized that the speedometer wasn't in between the groove in the shock like it was supposed to be. After fixing that problem though it still doesn't work. I also noticed that the inside of the wheel where the speedometer inserts into is completely flat and smooth, but the speedometer itself has two metal plates inside (seemingly to lock onto something?) You can see from the picture below that the inside of the speedometer housing has 2 metal plates inside: https://www.google.com/search?q=250r...D3%3B225%3B169 I also checked and my cable doesn't rotate when I turn the wheel, which I'm pretty sure means my problem is at the wheel and not the gauge. Does anyone know if the speedometer is supposed to lock onto the wheel or not? |

Well... My guess is that the inner spinning cable isn't fully inserted into the wheel mechanism, try spinning the cable and pushing it so it locks into the front wheel assembly then see if turning the wheel turns the cable.
You may want to introduce yourself in the introductory part of the forum. |

My guess is your front wheel fell off. Just a guess but it could happen.

Thanks Josh. I tried that and it wasn't inserted all the way. After inserting it and making sure I couldn't rotate the cable, it still wasn't working.
Motofool that is awesome! That's exactly what i needed. Thank you very much ![]() |
