Airbag Jackets / Gear

Any new developments in this area? I know Dainese has been working on the D-Air system for consumers for quite a while... haven't heard much, though. There's Impact Jackets and Hit-Air Jackets/Vests as well, which I'm not a big fan of.

RS TaiChi has an airbag version of their GMX Motion leather jackets but it's for professionals only

Seems like it has the potential to really save alot of lives... wonder why more manufacturers are't jumping on this

It's probably very expensive which is why only professionals have it. Just a guess.

True, but if regular consumers are dropping $2000 for a Dainese suit, I'm sure they could afford an airbag-equipped jacket. The GMX Motion jacket has the same airbag technology found in ImpactJackets and HitAir Jackets (CO2 cartridge with tether) and their products sell in the $300-$500 ballpark.

It may not come to the U.S. if Dainese D-Air ever goes into mass production...lawsuits.

The Dainese system is by far the most promising system out there.
