Cool Riding Boots for Petite Ladies

The new trend in ladies shoes are 'hidden wedges' that are INSIDE a shoe or boot to give a long-legged look.

Imagine my happy surprise to see that Joe Rocket has decided to do this to their riding boot. This looks so much more secure than a pair of heeled boots (and safer!) I especially like how these are designed with the extra reinforcements needed in a riding boot.

If anyone on Ninjette happens to give them a shot, please share what you think of them.

I saw this first-person review here on another forum:

The Daytona LadyStars have been doing this for awhile, but the Joe Rocket version is certainly a bit more economical.

Wow, I've never seen those Daytona's before. But man, they are pretty expensive!

My wife really likes them, they made her quite a bit more comfortable at a stop without having to then lower any of the bikes she has owned over the years.

Should make such boots for shorter men as well.

Thumbs up My Review

I purchased these boots a couple of weeks ago. I was SO happy that the store had them in stock!

These boots only come in whole sizes. I am usually a true 6.5 and usually in whole sizes I take a 7. The 7s were too loose, and the 6s fit just right with a little toe wiggle room.

I don't even feel like I am wearing heels. They are very comfortable to walk in. The soles are very 'grippy.' I tried these on their waxed, slippery, shiny, showroom floor and tried to spin with one foot on the floor and the boot didn't budge.

The ankles are pretty stiff, but I only notice it when I have to walk down stairs.

Even though my Ninja 300 is lowered 2", and the boots give me an extra 2.5" - as you can see from the photo I still cannot 'flat foot' if I put both feet down on the ground. (I can flat foot if I have one foot on the brake and one foot down.)

I had to adjust the shifter a tad so I could fit my toe under it. Shifting up is no problem though.

Thanks for posting! I'm looking for new boots, and I'm short so these seem perfect for me.

How tall are you? I'm curious, because you wrote that your Ninja 300 is already lowered 2" and the boots give you an extra 2.5", but you still cannot 'flat foot'!

BTW - I'm 5'2", but I'm okay riding a bike as long as the balls of my feet touch the ground. I think with the added height, I'll be even more comfortable!

They zip all the way up on the side. I do believe the buckle at the ankle is simply for decoration and serves no other purpose. At the top, there is velcro that goes over the end of the zipper and holds it down flat & hidden.

For some reason, on my right boot, if I'm not careful, the velcro is exactly at the same height as the peg when I put my right foot down. Occasionally, the peg end will catch will 'rip' open the velcro. Pretty annoying sometimes.

I am 5'1! I had my 250 also lowered 2" and I also didn't flat foot on it.

I can flat foot if I have one foot on the ground and the other on the brake, but not with both feet down.

^^Cool!

I ordered the boots. UPS tracker says they'll be here tomorrow; I will let you know what I think after extended use.

I currently own the Icon Hella boots, they have a wedge heel that I think provides a 3" lift, so I'll see how the Joe Rocket compares.

I got the boots today, unfortunately, I'll have to return them. I have really skinny legs/calves and the boots are really loose in that area, as you can see from the pictures. I have my Icon Hella boot on the right and the Joe Rocket Heartbreaker on the left.

Definitely like the idea, but I've heard some negative comments about Joe Rocket's quality from some friends... Maybe I can at least find them in a local shop sometime and give them a try on!

Just my but looks like the Heartbreakers are designed to be worn over track leather pants. A little odd for that cut of boot but wouldn't be the first set I've seen do that

Yeah, my intent was to wear these while commuting on the street. For the track, I had the Alpinestars S-MX 5.

Sorry for the late response, as I have been MIA from the forum for a few months.

Yes, the boots are a little wide for me at the top as well. When I ride, I wear leggings, then I put on knee high socks over my leggings (so yeah, the socks stick out above the boots a little) and then I wear my overpants over all of it. I've adjusted the velcro at the top of the boot as far as it would go.

Probably hard to see but I'm in leggings, knee-high socks and my boots in this pic below. I wore my overpants to ride in but I take them off when I get to my destination and it's hot out.

And I do love the Hella boots. I would get them to ride in just occasionally, but I can't find them anymore.

I personally like Joe Rocket. My husband had a Joe Rocket jacket he wore for 4 years before the zipper finally broke. However, he's never wrecked on a bike *knock on wood* to find out how it holds up in a wreck. But he did recently buy a new Joe Rocket jacket since the last one held up so well and I do like the quality of them. I like the quality of these boots. The ankle is stiff, but walking in them, is like wearing a very comfortable shoe.

DO NOT LIKE.

The heel wedge on the inside makes the outside look super stiff like ergonomic shoes.

I'll stick with my Stella boots.

Just like @eddyble , I'm not sure why I even read this whole thread... LoL!

I will however say... that I've always thought women that rode motorcycles were a huge turn on for me, as well as women who wore knee-high boots! So all of this, LADIES... equal a whole lotta SEXY!

Lookin' good ladies! Glad there are companies out there thinkin' about ya'll...

Eh, it's the same thing for me. I'm 5'6" on a stock 09. I thought it might be a hindrance when I first started riding but it's really not a big deal.

Bump

Boots are now for sale in the Gear-related For Sale area.

Though I like these boots, I got another pair of boots and noticed I tend to go to the other pair instead of these, so I haven't worn them since.
