Top speed?

Hi. I was wondering how everyone else's 300s do on the top end.
Mine has a hard time going anywhere above 107 mph.
How's yours?

Install a larger front sprocket and make sure you're in sixth gear.

You know, I'm thinking the 300 doesn't actually have the torque to pull all the way to redline with the 15t sprocket. I haven't tried it, because I try not to kill myself on the street, and the track didn't have a long enough straight. But I DID notice that it was already REALLY slowing down pulling into the 80s on the straight. I might drop it back down to the 14t and see if it feels any different pulling up past 80mph.

You can see what I mean here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...ORnGBDs#t=395s

it probably took me 2 miles to get from 90 to the max on my 250...
so yeah, during your track day the 14 tooth is probably better.

the redline is lower on the 300s though so that will effect you as well.

If it isn't being measured on a decent GPS device then the numbers are null.

98/mph is all I've gotten so far. Hit that on one canyon run that had a really long straight road and I sat at 98 for a good while before slowing. Confirmed speed on the front straight at Chuckwalla with my buddy tailing me on his 675. Hope that with the pod tune from Area-p I can get a tad more out of this bike.

Top speed? Fast enough.

Fast enough for what?

Fast enough to lose you your license.
Fast enough to kill you.
Fast enough to exceed sane safety limits.
Fast enough to have craploads of fun.

The number is unimportant.

Top speed? Not important to me as long as the bike can do average freeway speeds, maybe a touch faster...

Acceleration - now that's what I like!

My 300 accelerated fast enough for me to drop just about any cars on the street. I could always get ahead of traffic on it.

I did get it up to 105 on a flat straight in the country with no turn-offs just to check it out. I was in 6th and pretty much revved out.

It's a known fact that craploads don't start until 120mph ( or 90mph on a 250).
