I enjoy riding because of the feeling of one-ness with the road, the bike, and the world. Because I don't have to think about controlling the bike: rather, I just think where I want to go and how I want to do it. I'm not on the bike, rather, I'm in the bike. A part of the bike. Or it's a part of me. I'm not sure which. One. Cars are OK. They all get me where I want (or need) to go. The TR6 is light, but the clutch is heavy (way heavy!). The SL500 is fun because it drives like it’s on rails, except I can flick the rear end out in corners on command. But it's a heavy boat. And convertibles are nice because of the 360 by 180 degree sensory dome: sights; sun; darkness; temperature; wind; even smells. But the motorcycle is a bigger experience. The motorcycle is just one facet of my life. I'm a husband, father, son, neighbor, landlord, engineer, change board chairman (don't ask), hand holder, nose wiper, and on... But the motorcycle sets me free. I'll have to think about a soundtrack. |
