The weather is supposed to be really nice this Sunday (5/20). Anyone up for a group ride in Central / Northern Jersey? I have to start early ~9AM because I have plans in the afternoon.

Something like this - but, I'm totally up for suggestions...

I'm in BurlCo but would be interested in a group ride sometime. I'm busy this weekend, but will keep an eye on this thread.

Back to the track on 5/27! You guys need to really make an effort to hit the track this summer, you won't regret it.

Hi guys, I just moved to downtown JC from Boston. I have a 2007 250, and I consider myself a beginner. I try not to ride on the highway, so JC has me feeling a bit trapped, I haven't found a good way out into the open areas west of here yet. Any recommendations on that would be welcome.

Also, if anyone knows a good place to have work done on our bikes, that would be a big help.

I look forward to meeting up sometime!

I'm from NJ! Why have I never seen this thread before?

I'm up in Bergen County (North Jersey) but go to College in central Jersey. I guess I would say I'm a novice. I usually go up to Bear mountain to ride and have always wanted to try new routes.

Welcome to Jersey! I'm in JC as well and just got my license about a month ago. I know exactly what you mean... there's no place around us w/o a ton of traffic. If I just want a quick ride, I'd do a few laps around Liberty State Park then a few rips down Caven Point Rd. If you want something more scenic, I'd suggest going up to the West New York/Edgewater region and take River Rd or JFK Blvd. Great views of the NYC skyline and you'll see a TON of bikers along the way. If you stop by the Starbucks at Edgewater Commons, you'll be sure to run into a few riders on their way up to Bear Mountain.

Also need to find a place to have work done on our bikes. I stopped by what should be 2nd Street Cycles (off Newark Ave) and I think they're closed- no signs outside and all their phones have been disconnected. I did, however, ask a local and he mentioned he saw a bunch of bikes inside the garage.

I need an oil change badly...

I know for you guys in JC it'd be a hike, but I'd recommend Washington Cycle Works if you need any work done and are somewhat local. They basically only work on sport bikes with a focus around the track. Great place, very knowledgeable. I know they've helped me out with a few things when I was in a bind.

Just your neighborly track junkie here reminding you that you can do a track day under my membership (you only have to pay for the event, not a membership fee).

My next track daywith be July 21st at NJMP so plenty of time to think about it. PM me if you're interested or would like more details. You won't regret getting some track time on the 250.

As fun as that sounds it looks like you need a SNELL rated helmet and I dont have the spare cash to buy a second helmet atm
Do you ride down Boosted or trailer down?

The group I ride with (Team Pro-Motion) doesn't require a SNELL rated helmet, just a late model undamaged full face helmet. They really aren't particular about helmets in tech unless there's something blatantly wrong.

I trailer down. Unless you're really close to the track its crazy to ride there. I couldn't imagine a 2 hour ride down, then riding all day and having to ride home. I was talking to one guy and he rode down the day before and stayed in a hotel and then tracked and rode home same day. Yeah, he bought a trailer before his next day lol.

I hope everyone got out this weekend it was a beauty.

I've gotta re-jet and clean my carbs, Boosted any guide recommendations?

Track... yes. Tell me you can fit more than one bike on your trailer...

Ahh ok. I was just concerned about the helmet because it specifically lists the SNELL requirement in the rule book from NJMP itself. If thats not the case then I may have to seriously consider getting myself down there

Stock intake still and area p exhaust. I have the jet kit sitting the garage. MPG seems lower than it should be, but I was cranking it on the highway this weekend so that maybe it.

Maybe I'll ride down some time and you can give it ride.

I'm running 108 mains with needle on 3rd clip, but I have removed the airbox with k&n filters. So you'd probably want a step or two down (104 or 106). Tuning takes time and is all about feel. You can also check your spark plugs to see if you're too rich/lean.

You're always more than welcome to head down my way, got a giant garage with lots of tools too

Maybe we can hook up for a ride one weekend as I'm in Burlco about 35 mins from you.

Keep talking guys, a group ride sounds fun. I'm out of town this weekend, but the summer is just starting, plenty of time to get in on more rides.

I think you guys from Jersey ought to invite us guys from NY for a visit. I was up at High Point or High Land park or something a few weeks ago and found my way to deckertown Pike and and it was incredible. I know you have some incredible roads in north NJ and it's a PITA for me to find them on a map. If one of you knows these roads we should hook up. I mean...Bear Mtn in NY is OK but you have to watch out for the bicycles and it's only a 5 minute ride up. Where as deckertown was WOT.... hey, share what you NJ guys got.

I'll be taking ART 1 which is basically intro to track. So if anyone is interest Boosted can part of the fee waived so let us know!

You have to sign up at least 3 days before the day of the event, but the event usually fills all its spots about a week before the event. So signing up a couple weeks before would be advised. PM me if you have any more specific questions.

Not to cause a frenzy, but I can only waive the membership fee (not the track day fee) for one more person. I just found out I'm limited to 2 per event. This doesn't stop more people from coming though!

Like I said feel free to PM me if you have any questions or check out www.teampromotion.com for more details
