Yet another one
Hello
My name is Matt and I too got an invite from KKIM to check out the witty and intelligent conversations going on here. I will try to chime in as I can with the limited amount of online time that I have, as I would typicaly rather be out doing something. I have an 08 250 and my wife has an 07 that we got in the middle of 08 for cheep, and a 69 BMW R50/2 that I restored to like new. I'm also part of a crew that runs for a speed record at Bonneville. The car is a Ferrari 288 GTO with a big block Chev that went 292mph last year. |

Aloha and welcome, Matt. Glad to see you here and hope you enjoy the site.
Neat projects you have there. Some others on the board are also in the Washington area, though I have no idea how close you all are to each other. mahalo |

Most likely due to being geared so high for top speed, they couldn't take off from a dead start in first gear even if they wanted to, so they bump start it instead.... my "guess" anyway.

That makes sense too but if I wanted I could start my car from a stop in 5th gear. It's just a little more challenging though.

No pre-shrinking is necessary, if he loads it as his avatar the site will automatically shrink it to the max allowed size. Great pic, BTW, Sunny! You're getting awfully good at that technique.

Wow, Alex... that's good to know!! I've been shrinking my pics down for so long to fit avatar restrictions, I wasn't aware it would be done automatically here. Why is that not employed on other sites?

Download the GIMP, it's free, and with a little trial and error can do a large percentage of what Photoshop can do.

Hah Matt I like the 'Scooby Doo basketballs' you have on the Ferrari to keep the intakes from sucking up sand and all when not running.

WOW great job on the pics!!!
Yes those are scooby do balls, turbos don't like chunks of salt. The car has a custom locking rear overdrive to a B&J 4 speed with no clutch. Shifting is done with plungers and compressed CO2. |
